SB Nation decided to do a piece on that time the Lakers and Kings got together for basketball things and it led to sour feelings.

The Kings had it and should've won it even with all the ref stuff. They just couldn't make their free throws in Game 7. One of the best teams to not win a title. I mentioned it in another thread. 2018 Rockets, 1998 Jazz, 2002 Kings, 1981 Bucks are some teams that come to mind. Any other nominations for best team to not win a title?

Could Vlade have grabbed that board instead of batting it out to Horry? I guess he didn't want to take the chance on a Shaq putback.

I'm really not a fan of batting rebounds, especially offensive rebounds. You see it all the time these days, and I wonder how many of them could've simply been caught. If the player is knocking it away from an opponent, sure, but a lot of these seem to turn into fast breaks going the other way.

In this specific one, it was the right play as Shaq was looming for another put-back attempt. Simply bad luck that it went right to Horry in rhythm.

Those early 80’s Bucks team were loaded but they always had to face Philly or Boston.

LOL. Every single player on that team does have a ring, so I'm not sure if it's fair to include that team.

I think that's a stronger argument for including them.

Okay, then the list is easy at the top. LOL.

1. 2016 Warriors
2. 2018 Rockets
3. 2007 Mavs
4. 2002 Kings
5. 1998 Jazz
6. 1994 Sonics
7. 1981 Bucks
8. 1991 Blazers
9. Numerous recent Spurs teams that fell short in the playoffs

Who else?

The Phoenix Suns, the year they got screwed due to suspensions.

New York Knicks the year they got suspensions for the Miami fight. That year the Knicks had the Bulls number and would have beat them in the conference finals.

Yeah, that's an interesting question. If you allow teams that won other rings together, the 2016 Warriors would definitely be in the convo. It would also bring a few other teams into it as well. I can think of some 80's Lakers and Celtics teams and a Sixers team from the 80's as well.

I didn't start following sports until 1986, but yeah, I've heard and read about how brutal it was to win a title in the early to mid-80's.

No they shouldn't have - they didn't have the balls to win it. Kobe Bryant and Robert Horry cut them off and now they are Eunichs. Get over it already. The fact is there were other mistakes that caused the ball to be given to the Kings to begin with in that final minute. Had the possession been given to the Lakers as it should have been - Robert Horry wouldn't have had to drain that last three for the win. If I had it to do over, I would never take that chance and would have corrected all of the mistakes, but that last shot was nice because people like you 17 years later are still crying

The Suns screwed themselves by violating the rules. When Raja Bell clotheslined Kobe; Kobe had the balls to get up and not bitch about it - He made Bell look stupid and himself smart - That's the Reason Kobe has five titles and the Suns have none in the last 20 years
