I also text 500 to re-pick for Wilhelm.

Wilhelm is $5 and 500 has $5 left for the 1950's but he needs two players so he can't have Wilhelm.

Won the first one 25-24 baby! Championship game here we come!

Got spanked 31-16... it’s bitter sweet... first game he played basically a 9 man rotation of 12... second game the minutes kind of got spread and some of those guys shouldn’t have been in the game... I get that everybody wants to play, I felt bad when I heard one of the kids cried for not playing in the first game... I felt the dad that was mad when his son played maybe 2 minutes in the first game... but unfortunately these kids are in middle school... I might sound like a dick but everyone doesn’t get to play sometimes... especially when it’s the championship game... maybe our team still loses maybe they win... but imo you gotta earn the time... that’s all... it was awesome to watch either way, just hate to see them lose...

When my older boys were younger, I signed up to coach Hoops in our Little Dribbler program. I was pumped because the Varsity Coach ran practices...but the rules were different. You had 10 kids on your team, 5 would play 4 minutes, then the other 5 would play four minutes through the entire game, no deviation. He did this for the little league, then did the same thing with his 7th, 8th and 9th grades. Only the Varsity got to play the best at all times. I asked him once why he did that. He said when he first got to White Oak, he had a good team, but his tallest player was 6'2''. There were three kids in the HS over 6'7''. He said he asked them why they didn't play basketball, they said they played when they were younger, but quit because the never got playing time. This Coach won two State Championships and made the playoffs every year he coached and is widely considered one of the greatest coaches ever in East Texas.
Carry that over to baseball. Erik's Sr year, we went to the 4th round and lost a close 1 game series to a great pitcher. Our team had 6 kids that are now in college or signed on scholarship to play. All 6 played select for me, and the drop off from the top 6 was pretty large. Our select teams had kids from all over the Southwest, but only a couple from each grade at our school were strong enough to play. I've decided with my two younger son's, I'm gonna do everything possible to keep more local kids on my teams going forward, and make sure they all play. We might not win any little league National Titles, but developing another 8-10 local kids might be the difference between a playoff run and a state title in HS. Something to chew on:thumb:
