Not a chance. They were 16-1 in 2017, no way this year. Probably lose 2 to Houston, and 2 in the Finals too. Depending on Beverley's antics could easily lose 1 to LA. It'll look more like last year where they went like 16-6 I think.

It's weird, when Millsap was in ATL they had a top seed one year, some pretty good pieces but no great players. They were a regular season team, I could see that being the same thing in Denver. I think they do have better pieces on Denver than they had on those ATL teams but just a regular season team. We will see, if they can't beat SA in Round 1 then I don't know how they can compete in the West for years to come. They have a young team but still. They NEED to win this series.

One more piece meaning replace Millsap with a better player when his contracts is up? I don't see any other options than that and even that is slim. They will eventually have to fork it up for Murray.
Maybe Porter can be that guy, we haven't seen him yet or he could be that kid that had great potential but always injured.
They are still young and didn't get the best matchup in the 1st round but the Spurs are only going to get better for years to come. You have the Blazers, Thunder, Rockets, Warriors...it isn't getting easier anytime soon. They need to get as much experience for these young guys as possible. There should be no reason to lose to a #7 seed when you have home court advantage and you almost got a #1 seed over the W's.
I am not knocking the Spurs bc they are a good team but this would be a huge disappointment losing in the 1st round.

Agree totally.

If we are having this same conversation in 3 years, then we got problems.

Nobody expects Denver to go far this year. A first round exit would be disappointing, but also something the team can draw on and learn from.

Anything they do this year is gravy. Expectations will start in earnest next year, IMO.
