Trent Richardson drops out of the top 5. I think teams are realizing that you don't have to spend a top pick to get a solid RB.

Chandler Jones is a surprise top 10 pick.

sounds like a Jaguars pick here

mahalo.

but these two weren't huge surprises were they? no doubt Alualu was, cause don't think he was even projected a 1st rounder? but these two were projected high enough i recall?

the reputation is for draft surprises, not how they panned out. so it appears they got the reputation on Alualu?

Stephen Hill is the first receiver taken in the draft at #7. This would fit in that Jags doing something silly post.

That actually makes a lot of sense. DHB went 7th, and Hill is just as talented phyiscally (he's almost as raw too).

DHB's turning out to be a pretty good WR by the way. Maybe even a great one in time?

Perhaps not a surprise as Alualu was(still is).... I mean that was way left field....

even the Gabbert pick was a surprise because no one really expected them to take a QB in the first round of the draft at least.

Screw Manning. It's clear he simply wants to ca$h in as safely as possible in his new retirement home. If he really wanted another ring badly enough and believed he was healthy enough to get it he would've gone to SF.

As much as Peyton invites the "All American Boy" facade, I mean characterization, I tend to agree with this statement.

By the way I don't blame Manning at all. I'd retire after making about 300K in the NFL. I'd MUCH rather be pain free in my later years than have the money / glory.

On the flip side, however, Manning won't have the legacy he might have had if he went to SF. I doubt he plays more than one or two more years. I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't even finish the 2012 season.

I have always been routing for DHB because of all the shit he got after something that was out of his control. It's like people were expecting him to stand up and say, "Nah, I think the Raiders are reaching with this pick so I'm gonna sit down and wait until the 2nd or 3rd round."

If Hill develops then anybody "reaching" for him will look like really smart. I think he is gonna end up being pretty good myself.

but as is the case for a lot of these guys (below the elite prospects).....its a question of when? Hill might be the most extreme case, where 'when' might be 4-5 years? if the typical WR needs three years to reach his draft status, Hill MIGHT need more?

really tough call for GM's in the late teens, early twenties?

Luke Kuechly going in the top 10.

Cleveland will end up having 3 first round picks

Rams will end up having 2 first round picks

49ers will be very agressive and end picking in the top 20

Ozzie will end up having the best draft class, once again!

Cinci will trust their board and end up with steals with their 2 first round picks
