Caps made it sometime around 98. Got swept in the finals against Detroit. Esa Tikkenen missed a wide open net in game 3 when we were up like 4-2 or something and let all the air out of the tire. They lost that game in OT and never showed up in game 4.

Washington was lucky to be in the Finals that year, the Devils and Penguins both lost in the first round, the Wings were just a really good team that year...
