Well not so excited this week coming off a loss. I hope can drill this team that they still have a shot here. Lets take care of business and get the back ups in the game by the 4th Q.

No let down game.

We need to get a big lead early to make them pass.
I would love to see the subs come in but Navy has played us tough the last couple of years where we were behind in the 4th quarters of both games. Another concern is that we have had a tendency to play shitty after big games.

It is too our advantage that we defended the option well against GT, but my gut tells me that Navy will put up a lot more of a fight than GT.

Well I'm hoping hey thump Navy, BC, Pitt, Wake Forest and Temple and then beat USC and Stanford. If they do that they will have done everything they can to get themselves into the playoffs and hopefully things bounce Notre Dame's with either USC or Stanford winning the Pac 12 and another conference having a two loss champ way.

Navy has played easy opponents so far and being an option team they will have big rushing numbers, but Navy is 3rd in rushing with 339 yards per game. Also their defense is ranked 13th yielding 15 points per game. It looks like their Achilles heal is their passing game. Navy averages just over 66 yards per game in the air placing them 127th in passing.

Looking at their past scores, it looks like they never had a need to pass so they just relied on their bread and butter rushing game. Navy may be able to pass but their passing game is suspect. We need to sell out on the running game and take our chances with the passing game.

Notre Dame needs a kind of game like that after the Clemson one... #GOIrish

I'm actually excited about this game. I'm eager to get back into the win column, I want to see how this team reacts to letting one get away last week.

A win gets us back on track (in the win column), and then we start to prepare for USC, which is going to make or break the season.

I'll settle for a win and no injuries.

I think that there are 5 teams ranked ahead of us with a reasonable (?) chance of losing this week. If we beat Navy, we have a chance to move up 1or 2 places. This game finishes the first half of the season. Most of the rivalry games are just coming up. If we win out, I will be surprised if we don't make it in. The key(outside of winning out) will be Stanford. Everyone says you have to have a statement game at the end of the year like in a Conference championship game. Since we don't have one, we need to beat Stanford who is hopefully the PAC-12 champ. If we do, and they are, we basically win our conference championship game.

But it all starts with Navy.

Still a lot of season left hopefully things go Notre Dame's way but if they do get left out and they are 11-1 they will have a chance to prove the selection committee wrong by beating up on someone in a big bowl game.

I agree a lot of season left. After MZ injury I had this team at 9-3 but after watching Kizer play I think this team should go 11-1 or 10-2 at worst with a nice bowl win.

I wanted to see how Kizer handled himself before starting to project how many wins I thought they could get and considering that Zaire didn't have a lot of starting experience himself I don't know that it was really going to drop the win total a bunch. With Zaire they were a team that could go 12-0, 11-1, or 10-2, now they are a team that could go 11-1, 10-2 or 9-3 which isn't a huge drop.

I know our contract with NBC has 3:30 games or night games but it sucks having to wait till 3:30 or later to watch the game.

That 1 TD throw by Kizer to Fuller was awesome. This kid is going to put up a fight next year against MZ.
