Livin' la vida loca
I just read an article that said barring a miracle the NFL will set a record for most points scored this year. With that in mind our 14.8 pts allowed per game becomes even more impressive. In a league where receivers and QBs are protected beyond anything that would be considered reasonable our Defense has thrived. Can you imagine how much better this squad would be if they didn't need to worry that every time they touched the QB they were going to get a flag? Our DB's get accused of grabbing and holding all the time but it wasn't all that long ago that what they are doing now would have been child's play. The DB's in the 70's, 80's and 90's could lower the boom and just about kill receivers. Nowadays DB's almost have to allow the receiver to catch the ball before lightly placing them on the ground.
Anyways, that was a long way to go to say I'm very impressed with our Defense in this age of 5000 yard passers and 50 td seasons.
