Me too. I thought that at the very least, Posey would get the day off. I guess Boch is worried the boys would get rusty if they were to have 3 days off. Definitely no blocking the plate or trying to bowl over the catcher when the Giants are on offense. If there's a sacrifice fly, do not send the runner if there's any chance that the play will be close.

If Scutaro gets a hit, 3 different Giants will have had 20-game hit streaks in the same season for the first time since 1918. Pagan and Sandoval have had 20-gamers thus far.

Also, Posey can't go 0-16 or else McCutchen wins the batting title and the Bay Area sinks into the Pacific.

This game means a lot because of the rules that MLB put in place this year, which thrills them because for at least one season, they can get the fans to buy into it.

Boch just came out and said that he expected Posey to play in 100-110 games total this year (not catch, play). Posey will finish at 148 regular season games. He's very happy for Buster on winning the batting title and strongly believes he should in MVP.

Boch also says starters will only get a few AB's, I expect a Spring Training like game today.

Yes, IF the Yankees lose. BUT, if the Yanks lose and the O's win, 3 teams will have 94 wins, and Oakland holds the tiebreaker over both teams. BUT, the Yanks and O's will need to play one more game to see who is the division winner and the wildcard winner. In that case, the winner will have a better winning percentage than the A's and be the number 1 seed.

Basically, both the Yanks and O's need to lose today for them to have a shot.

We'll see. It's gotta be a crushing blow though being up 5 games with only 9 to play and to be swept by the A's to lose it.

Also, I know Hamilton probably is leaving money on the table just due to his past addictions and problems.....that said, he probably left some more money on the table today when it looked like he laughed and shrugged off Ron Washington when Washington confronted him in the dugout after the missed routine fly ball by Josh. Will be an interesting offseason for Hamilton.
