Samardjiza 6.0 IP, 7 H, 2 ER, 11 K, 1 BB

Moore: 7.2 IP, 6 H, 1 ER, 11 K, 0 BB

And the offense finally stepped up

Its been a really awful year in terms of pitching and defense so even being in the playoff race at the last game isnt too bad. In terms of what went wrong, its a testament to the coaches and system that this team wasn't in last place.

Hey it's the same players, they were just in a horrible funk. Same thing happened in 2014. The parallels are eerie....2nd wild card again, we will be underdogs in every series, again. Just how we like it!

Odds are against us, and maybe we fall short, but they deserve our support, they've been great for years.

Told you this week would be fun! I don't know what they did but someone flipped a switch and suddenly the swagger is back.

If we get past the Cubs (big huge if but they are cursed and it's only a 5 game series) I like our chances to get to the WS and then, well EYIAT baby!

How could I not? The worst was maybe 2 weeks ago, can't remember exactly which blown save it was, and I posted that I wasn't actually that upset if they fell short because 10 12 and 14 happened. And it was true. To be honest I'm not nearly as jazzed as I was when we made the playoffs in those years either, for the same reason.

Let the crapshoot begin!
