With the trend to pull pitchers after 6 IP (or twice through the order), does working the pitch count even matter anymore? Will pitchers ever get to the 100 pitch area anymore?

Homer Bailey went over 100 pitches today.... but then again it's Homer Bailey and it's the Reds so it's not like they're trying to preserve him.

Working the count helps for more than just forcing the pitcher out early. Being more selective can make the pitcher work harder to get the ball in the zone.
