I wonder if instead of being Patrik Elias from Trebic, Czech Republic if he were Pat Ellis from Kingston, Ontario if it would strengthen his Hall of Fame resume.

Actually, I think that would hurt him. In addition to the solid resume, he's one of the first consistently productive players from over there.

Tons of "good Canadian Boys" with similar numbers. Not as many Czechs. Yet.

It amazes me that Elias is questionable but people are already pushing in Iginla, how ever I'm biased

I thnk approaching 600 goals (mainly of them during the so-called dead puck era) makes it pretty much a no-brainer. Not to mention playing key roles on two Canadian Olympic gold medal teams. If Iggy isn't a first ballot Hall-of-Famer, I'll eat quoi's hat.
