A basketball coach one time told me to stop throwing behind the back passes. I quote "you're not Magic Johnson". I was like 10 at the time. True story.

No. If you were around to see him play in the 80s you'd know that no way is he better than Magic and Kareem. He's probably not up to Larry Bird yet.

But I get it, you millennials have probably only seen a handful of stars so lebron has to be up there

Btw, heard a great interview with Bird on the Dan Patrick Show yesterday. Reggie Miller was filling in for DP and interviewed Bird, it was really good. It was also the first time I've heard Bird confirm that he really did walk into the locker room before a 3 point shooting contest and said "Which one of y'all are coming in 2nd?"

He also said that he never really practiced shooting 3's. Said he never went out and shot 200-300+ three's a day like guys do now because it really wasn't a big part of the game back then. Kind of scary to think about how good he might have been if he had actually worked on that shot.

Or if teams had moved to the efficiency of the 3pt shot back then like they do today (score at the rim or outside the arc).

I always loved this... about 3:50 in. Needing that final ball to win it and he's celebrating the shot before it even falls.
