That also potentially projects 10 PAC teams with winning records which will create quite a log jam for bowl season, but considering how many freaking bowls there are now, a 6-6 PAC team has a good chance at getting a bid no matter what.

Yep, more derp. :L
Duck fans (Not Oly that I recall) were in praise of the QB's behind Mariota, you know, their Heisman QB. ALL of them were busts. USC fans were poking him a bit over that and I chimed in. That's hardly as you characterize it now is it?

As for our hate of Oregon. You do know enough about college football to know they are our most hated rival right? I mean do you REALLY have to be told these things? :tsk: Of course we dump on them! And, despite their assertion that they no longer care about us, they do pretty much nothing else but the same themselves. That's how rivalries work sport.

You really need to step up your trolling game. It's just weak ass stuff over and over.
I have been an advocate for Jonsen since his name was still Waller. I was never that impressed with Mahalak the way some were.

Yes you do. It's why you feel you have to keep responding every single time someone criticizes anything the Ducks do. You're like the Ducks version of an SEC fan.

How often are preseason predictions accurate? I'm not buying into any hype until I see it on the field. Beat Oregon. Beat WSU. Win the games you are favored in. Get an upset or two. Show you have made that next step and I'll believe it. Not a down sooner.

I'm in the same boat. All these preseason predictions....well, it's nice to feel the love, but the expectations are have officially "gone to plaid" and we're just going to have to see if we can live up to the hype that's being gushed on us right now.

We couldn't of asked for a more perfect coach and his staff for the Washington program, but still, soo much more to prove before we can comfortably accept such rankings and expectations. The PAC is a hyper competitive conference these days. Soo many good coaching staffs and talent on the field.

We'll know pretty well where this team is after Stanford and Oregon. Until then, hope all the love was justified.

Washington went 4-6 in conference which tied for seventh last season. That would be quite a leap for them to come out on top in the north. I still don't see Stanford dropping off that much losing Hogan with the beef they have on the lines and McCaffery. Oregon is still good just not MM days good. I'm guessing people think the Husky defense can get them there.

big boy table with teams like Michigan, tenn, Ok, Texas, FSU, USC all of who Oregon beat the last time they played?

The D is a big part of it. We return alomost the entire defense that was #1 in the PAC last year.
Gaskin as a freshman was outstanding for the run game. The weak link last year was the mid and long passing game. Browning started as a true freshman QB was part of thr problem, but performance from the WRs was as well. It got our WR coach fired and Petersen rarely fires people from his staff. Browning improved as the season went on, but how young he was showed a lot. But he's obviously been working hard the offseason, because there was noticeable improvement in his mid and long passing accuracy during the spring practices. If Tedford does become an official assistant / consultant on the staff, then Browning and the Washington QBs will have one of the best groomers in the game helping them max their potential.

Oregon is Oregon. They still have a stable of great RBs, but they got another transfer QB this year and their D was atrocious last year. Hoke will help with that, but it will take time. Oregon lost a lot of senior talent as well, including Buckner who played out of his mind last year.

Stanford has McCaffrey whose one of the most dangerous APY weapons in college. But they lost a tremdous amount of senior talent this year, including Hogan.

Washington needs to not do anything stupid in OOC and then has @Zona, Stanford, and @Oregon. If they're sitting at 5-1 at that point, we're in business, but losing to both Stanford and Oregon would prove we didn't deserve the hype.

The PAC north is the most open its been in years in 2016. I can understand why all the analysts are showing us this attention given what's going on with us, but if Washington slow starts going into PAC play and loses to Stanford and Oregon, then they won't deserve the north crown. That's pretty much it.

"But they got another transfer QB this year." If it wasn't for the artificial split of the conference, Oregon would have been in the CCG at 7-2 in conference, no team in the South had seven wins, so they did pretty well with that transfer. According to ESPN, both Harbaugh and Saban were interested in Prokup. If that's so, it looks like Oregon has another remedy for their lack of QB recruiting and development that everyone is so concerned about on this thread. But that's the mark of a winner, the ability to overcome your weak points. That and having plenty of $. USC complains about the probation that killed that program and it did, but the problem lately has been coaching that could not take advantage of the talent untouched by anyone else in the conference. Since nobody really has a good grip (especially me), the safe picks are Oregon takes the North and USC (IF their coaching works out) runs away with the South. USC in the CCG. If their coaches do not pick up the slack, it doesn't matter who wins the South.

At least NN is admitting that QB recruiting/development for the ducks has been a "weak point". That's all the people on this thread have been saying. I mean you can try to keep making more of what was actually said, but that's all that was actually said. Their rent-an-arms have been a great prescription for their ills. And no one has said otherwise. However, adding a new QB always means there is room for early season stumbles. This is true for in-house developed talent and/or JC transfers. This is all Regent was suggesting. It's an unknown.

Having plenty of money is the mark of a winner in college football - Not Neutral.

So accusing the ducks of paying for players on the side are you? Maybe you meant dollars going to those shadow recruiting services and throwing in more than you are allowed?

Oh, of course not. You will back pedal and say something dumb about facilities. Because pretty much every team in the conference has now upgraded theirs. It's no longer a huge disparity like it was 5-6 years ago.

As for who's going to take the North and South, I'll stick to what I've said all along and say pretty much every year: I'll wait until fall camps to make any real dent in predictions. Injuries matter and many teams haven't even worked out who is going to be their QB and many other key positions. For example, UW has had a few front line injuries and the overall health/depth there will be a huge impact on their season. Kind of have to wait to see where those things are at in the week or so before the season starts. And of course all of the new injuries that will happen in early fall camp.

Oh really? Go back and show me my first post on that topic. It was actually the USC fans that started down that road. I only added my 2c this afternoon.

So basically you really don't pay much attention do you? All I said is so far every QB they have brought in since MM has been a bust. And that's a fact. Of course the young ones now can't be evaluated yet. That doesn't dismiss that so far NONE have hit at any level of football on any team they transferred to nor on Oregon's team. Not one since '11. That's a lot of fail. And it isn't in debate.
You're right. I stopped paying attention to this curricular argument after its second revolution. No one has changed their opinion and beating my head against a wall is not my idea of a good time.

You mean there is something else to do in this thread during the long off season? :noidea:

This one should have vetted out, but the rest seem legit.
Granted they have been down a while now but Tennessee is still up there. I mean so is Texas and they are a dumpster fire right now.

That's why I don't spend much time here in the off season.
Would you be here more if we held hands and sang kumbaya?
