I seriously doubt Gordon could be more of a blowhard than Larry Mac.

Difference though, I respect Larry Mac's opinion and he doesn't have a voice that sends shivers down my spine.

To me it does. It always seemed like a competition between he and DW to see who could blow Brian France more.

I have a little more leniency for Larry Mac because he was Sr's crew chief for the 98 Daytona 500. I used to not be able to stand DW, until they added Michael Waltrip to the prerace crew.

Gordon just has that whiny voice that I can't stand. It's one of the reasons I've always hated him.

Oh I definitely agree with the Gordon part and the fact that they should've kept Mikey contained to just doing the truck races. Whenever I do watch the races next year when FOX has them, listening to MRN will be the way to go

There was metal debris clearly on the track, the cameras found it right away.

It was loose sheet off the racing line that's easily blown away. Scan the track at any time and you'll always find some shit laying off to the sides. They knew what they were doing

The cameras clearly showed the debris on the racing surface at the time the caution was thrown. The flag man is who called it in.

Nobody likes a conspiracy theorist.

The surface of the track is not the same thing as the racing line. It was inconsequential and likely there for many laps prior. You're naive if you think they didn't wait to throw it for one last shootout.

MRN is so much better with Eli Gold. I wish he would do all the races again.

I actually enjoyed it when they went to Darlington for the Labor Day race and they had the Jarrett's and Ken Squier call a portion of the race. It was the most enjoyable announcing I've heard in a long time.

Too bad I was sitting just as the cars were coming off turn 4.

It was the best all around race I've been to in my life time.

I've seen better finishes(Earnhardt over Labonte in Atlanta in 2000, and the next year Harvick over Gordon in an eerily similar fashion), but from start to finish, sitting in the stands, there was never a dull moment at this year's Southern 500.

Darlington is one of the few tracks I'd love to go see a race at, regardless of who's driving. It was definitely one of the better races that I had seen this year. I am definitely glad though it got moved back to where it rightfully belongs, which is on Labor Day weekend.
