This thread will give us a chance to discuss the goings on at Patriots Training Camp.

From Friday 7/31

Sebastian Vollmer was dressed but spent the day standing on the sideline watching practice. First question...is he healthy or not??

The "first team" offensive line was as follows:

LT - Nate Solder LG Shaq Mason C Bryan Stork RG Tre Jackson RT Marcus Cannon

One reporter said that he talked with LaGarrett Blount and said that Blount was a solid and fit looking 250 lbs. He said he actually appears to be a bit smaller than he was at the end of last year. He failed the conditioning run, not the entire test.

In their first sets both Brady and Garrapolo were razor sharp. Both seemed to drop off in the second set. Possibly a little bit worn from reps and the heat.

-Was reading that some think Seabass could be this season Mankins. Not sure if I trust Cannon or Fleming out at RT.
-I have a feeling Jordan Richards is going to make me eat my words when he was drafted. Apparently the kid has it and is very smart. Some say he is ahead of those who have been here, and he had to wait till Stanford was done school. Apparently he was way ahead of everyone at the combine, not sure what that exactly means.
-Butler is putting on a show and that Roberts has been looking good.
-T. Wilson is a name I keep seeing, apparently he is all over the field and if pads were on today, he would have lit up JE, DA, and Cadet.
-Cadet looks to be the 3rd down back we needed. They say it looks like he has been here for years.
-Mason and Jackson still at the OG spots. I think it's their job to lose.

As expected. I'm excited. These two are great run blockers. Jackson lined up with his old mate Stork at center should be great.,

Agree. Jackson was a beast at RG next to Stork his Jr yr. Funny that is where he is now, LOL. Mason was graded as one of the best run blockers in the draft. Him and Solder could be nasty. I actually like the depth we have. Wendell, Cannon, Fleming, Kline, all can play on the OL.

Also saw a tweet that Mathis could end up in NE if the money is right. The person thought NE would be his #1 choice, again as long as the money was right.

-I like to see this. He must be learning a lot covering JE.
-Mason had a great practice, again.
-Blount and Eas back to work, and Blount looked good.
-DMC praised JR on his smarts and where he is right now for a rookie. I think he may make Chung or Wilson expendable.
-Stork had his way with Siliga today. Reports were he tossed him around. I love this shit!!!

Patriots claim OG Harland Gunn off waivers from the Atlanta Falcons.

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- The New England Patriots have claimed second-year guard Harland Gunn on waivers from the Atlanta Falcons, ESPN NFL Insider Field Yates reports.

Gunn, who entered the league as an undrafted free agent out of Miami in 2012, appeared in 13 games for the Falcons over the last two seasons.

The 25-year-old Gunn (6-foot-2, 310 pounds) was waived by Atlanta on Saturday.

The Patriots' depth along the offensive line was thinned when reserve offensive tackle Kevin Hughes appeared to injure his left shoulder Saturday and didn't practice Sunday. That led to a shift in which Jordan Devey moved from guard to tackle

Today, Monday August 3, 2015 is an off day for the Patriots. It's a holiday in Foxboro, MA. Everyone is celebrating the birthday of President elect Tom Brady.

Love the fact that whenever you hear a person talk about the Pats after coming back from camp, the first words out of their mouths are "Butler this, Butler that".

Saw on NESN this morning that Julian Edelman missed his third day of practice to what is being described as a "Lower Body Injury". He hurt his hip last year. If I remember correctly it was a hyperextension or something close. A kid on my grandson's football team had a hip hyperextension two years ago and missed the last three games of the season. He hurt it again this past Tuesday night at the first week no pads conditioning drills and he may be out for the season again.

Hope Edelman's thing isn't serious, he's not replaceable.........then again, Welker's available.

Amendola can fill in for Edelman better than Welker...
Behind him there is Boyce. Not as shifty but much more speed.

WR has real depth, no need for Welker. As far as I'm concerned he let the door hit him on his way out.
