That is interesting but not sure good enough reason to start recruiting 3 stars? :noidea:

We at Oregon State NEVER see 5* recruits and occasionally beat a #1 at our house on a Thurday night.

High maintenance players are just that...to much work and resources.

Yep. Kam Chancellor was a two star QB prospect in high school whose only offer was VT.

4 Aggies on Seahawks roster.
Michael Bennett brother was 5* Martelles Bennett part of Frans best class. Some say we only offered Michael to get Martellus. Both did well in college, however, Michael has found more NFL success than his 5* brother who only makes headlines when he says or does something stupid.

Fun fact. Michael Bennet was the one that ear holed Colt McCoy that had him taken off the field on a cart in 2006. Hit like that would have had him ejected for targeting now days. It was the first time the Aggies beat the Horns during the Fran era. Colt got his revenge in a blow out in Austin two years later then a shoot out in College Station his senior year.

Christine Michael was 5* RB. I think he's a 3rd stringer but on the Seattle roster and gets to carry the ball now and then...

Wisconsin knows hot to recruit and develop. They don't need gift wrapped 5 star players.

Fun fact. Bennett also started that fight at the end, showing some Aggie core values.

As for the topic, i'd rather see the all pro roster, how many 5 and 4 stars are on that list.

Well that was well on display in the Aggies last bowl game. Now we know where they get it from.

Do they not? They won the B1G recently in years when TOSU wasn't eligible, PSU was sanctioned and Michigan was terrible. Not very hard to do. :noidea:

Earl Thomas was one of the best safeties in UT history, as well as the Big 12. I'll take guys like him all day every day - the only reason he wasn't a 5* is because of his height

If i am not mistaken Don'ta Hightower who plays fot New England was a 5 star in some recruiting service when he signed with the Tide. I know he was a 4 star in Rivals, but coulda sworn Maxpreps or another had him listed as a five star.

Talent cannot be measured by stars imo. Players with heart are what makes a team and New England seems to get the most outta whoever they bring in for some reason.

The thing about recruiting is you're not trying to find the best NFL prospects (although if they are one in the same the better). You're trying to find the best players for your college team. 5* guys are usually guys who have matured earlier and are able to play at a high level from the get go. These same college 5* players might have peaked at an early age and some 3* players had to grow into their bodies and since there are so many 3* players by the time they hit their senior year you can see the ones who have the work ethic to be great.

Their arent as many 5 stars given out as their are 3 stars, so every football game will feature more 3 stars.

exactly.Rivals says a 5 star is a top 25-30 type player and a 3 star is a top 750 type player.
