Jalen Hurts in one gif. The ball was thrown closer to the people in the stands.

I do watch HUDL videos not as interested in camp videos where here throwing without pads or pressure. But as far as JT and Hurts oesn't even make sense to compare the two especially recruiting wise.. Ones a Pro Style QB and the other is a Dual Threat QB.Completely different QBs. Makes more sense to actually see JT play first and how his college career pans out.

Browning didn't injure his shoulder until the Arizona State game. The game after Washington played USC :L
So Browning wasn't hurt for that USC vs Washington game? I think Browning is a good QB, but IMO J.T. Daniels right now is just as good if not better. I wouldn't normally ever hype an incoming freshman QB, but aftet watching Daniels play a few games in person last season when he was at Mater Dei, he's that good. I know it was only high school, but the kid is polished, goes through his prgressions and makes smart plays.

He was injured during the Arizona State game. They played Arizona State the week after they already played USC. It was Pendergasts play calling and the USC defense that had Browning out of sync. Not his shoulder

The loss to SC two years ago falls on the shoulders of Washington's coaches. Worst called game ever other than the one vs ASU last season. The offense didn't push the run and the idiot DC's didn't start blitzing until it was way too late in the game not to mention SC's TE killed us. You'd think after a half dozen throws to SC's TE over the middle that UW would have ghosted him with a Safety.

USC's defense came up big quite a bit last season, saved the Trojans a few games that Darnold and Helton's offense couldn't put away. Trojans defense should be as good or better than lasy season. Can't wait for the season to start.

Agree it was the result game planning on both sides. And some players stepping up on the field. Brownings shoulder injury was the following week when they played ASU

Hey AG, no hard feelings about any negative banter we had going on previously in other threads. Good luck to you guys on the upcoming season.

Of course you'd be the dumbass who tries to claim it's all about 1 play, and then you would also quote like the 4th play of the 1st game of the season to do it.

With all the Darnold talk I think a lot of people didnt see how good there d was. Not just adoree , Agustin was a beast the defense as a whole carried them at times. Stevie T was a major key too tho. I believe they only let 3 RBs break 100 yards in 2016. Held quite a few teams under 100 yards total rushing

Why are we re-litigating games from two years ago? :noidea:
Excuses are what they are, but it wasn't an injury going into that game against USC, he did come out a bit banged up. The scuttlebutt was he got into some kind of fight with his girlfriend the night before the game and basically got no sleep. Doesn't matter anyway. Doesn't mean a thing for this coming season so it's entirely a dead issue.

The kid went 3-8 for 21 yards . He missed on any pass over 10 yards.

"Yet Alabama couldn’t afford to be safe after its first half against the Bulldogs. The Tide trailed 13-0, with four punts in five drives, three coming after three-and-outs. Saban felt Hurts’s inability to throw was allowing Georgia to ignore any threat of the pass and zero in on stopping the Alabama rushing attack. “With the absence of a passing game and being able to make explosive plays and being able to convert on third down, I just didn’t feel we could run the ball well,” Saban said at his postgame press conference."

It's only interesting because you have the same QB who seemed to be flustered when pressured in that game and that was with Ross and Pettis and last season with just Pettis. Washington is loaded everywhere especially on defense but it remains to be seen if this could pop up again or if the Husky passing game takes it up a notch.Injuries killed that group last season so maybe when healthy it becomes a strength and if so the rest of the PACs in trouble. lol

How about we let the kid take a snap or 2 in training camp before we start saying he's as good or better than anyone, let alone the best in the conference?

Remember, Fink was supposed to be really good and Sears was supposed to be a more polished version of Darnold. We are talking about JT being the starter because, so far, neither of those 2 have lived up to their star rating.

I agree that he looked real good at Mater Dei and appears to read through progressions well, etc. USC has also had some good returns on Mater Dei QB's. But, there's a huge difference in the speed of the game. That's what players have the most trouble adjusting to.

You may end up being right and he may very well be the best in the conference. But until we actually see him take a couple of snaps, it's a bit early.

Possibly/hopefully, something clicks with Fink or Sears and we won't have to worry about starting a true freshman. That would be ideal.

It's football dammit! The rules are the same , the ball is round for everyone!
Unless he ends up At the Jets vs Patriots game thinking that’s where his team is at.

The biggest change for that unit in this off season is a brand new OC/PC that hasn't ever called plays before.

There have been a few of us that weren't impressed with how Smith called plays. He asked the kids to do things the way he wanted, not what played into their strengths and/or away from their weaknesses and it hurt them. He was fine when the talent they had entirely overwhelmed the other team, but he was just lost in x's and o's against teams equal or better in talent and it was glaring.

So far we only have spring ball to look at, but I was encouraged. They were letting Browning do what he's best at. Quick steps, read fast, get rid of the ball. He just isn't good at sitting back in the pocket waiting for long developing downfield plays. It's quick reads he really excels at. Like even 3 or 4 read options, as long as they are quick progressions. IF Hamdan can maximize that and stay in a more quick release set Browning's numbers should go up, even if they take less home run shots down field, at least in games with tougher pass rushes.

That, and they have a lot of talented kids to throw to, but most are entirely unproven. The one name that should emerge is Spiker. Kid is 6'3" with insane ball skills. I expect to see him as a TF out there against Auburn even. Still, he and the others have to prove they are gamers.

So I have a few questions about the offense going into next season, but Browning's poise based off a game from two years ago isn't at all one of them.
