Our wins are coming in regulation and OT too, which now gives us a ROW score of 22, better than 10 other teams in the conference, including 3 teams directly ahead of us in the division. If we were to tie Columbus, NJ or NYR in points, we would make it in ahead of them as of right now. That could end up being the difference in who has home ice in the first round or who plays the top seed.

TK in overtime. In unrelated news, he is sweet on my niece. Left her box seats for yesterdays game. It's a matter of time until I am in the locker room between periods!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Whoa!! Winner, winner, chicken dinner!!

Travis Konecny wins it just 27 seconds into OT via basically skating through all three Caps to the slot and pumping it home past Holtby!!!

He may have taken a giant leap toward elite level status with that solo play, if not there already.

So Evilflyer was def right about Koneckny, he needs to be playing with people who can skate and move their feet. Could really be Briere 2.0 Hats off to him hope his play continues.

This is the game that finally puts us in a playoff spot, only one point back of Columbus and two back of NJ, regardless of what happens later today or even tomorrow.

During one of the intermissions of this game, they talked about the two hottest Nhl teams right now. Boston and Colorado. Well, we just might be number three in that discussion as it stands.

That also happens to be the first home game the Caps have lost in OT or SO all season long. More than happy to give it to them!!

Again I would like to say how awesome Elliot had been during this turn around. I wanna say I would be shocked if this team won it all, but then again I wouldn't. What a crazy season so far.

Another huge win, this one a little more convincing. Why can't we start games off like this more often? I believe they said this was only the 9th time this season we've left the 1st period with a lead. We've played 46 games. That's an absolutely insane stat.

I would elaborate more, but I need to get to bed before work tonight.

I do have to say though that even despite the win, this felt like one of the most poorly officiated games I've ever seen. Only 3 or 4 of the 9 power plays awarded between the two teams were legit.

Additionally, they missed Voracek getting a forearm to the face and tripped. Then, Couturier takes a vicious high stick that about carves his eyeball out and nothing was called. That was an easy four minute power play. I could probably go on. Just atrocious officiating and I'm glad our penalty kill was mostly very good.

I thought this was our best game of the season and we played a full 60 minute game. We moved our feet well had lots of hits, blocked shots, good goal tending and scored. I wish we could play every game like this. Nice to do it to the devils after the way we played against them last season

I am very impressed with the ROW as we have had trouble with this in the past

I think Elliot is our first half MVP

The Rags and Canes both go down in regulation last night too, which is just icing on the cake for us. Yes, we have three teams within two points behind us, but they've now all played more games. This means we control our own destiny moving forward and are right there to challenge for the division lead, having just beaten the top two teams in one weekend.

Furthermore, BOTH of our goalies are hot right now. You feel comfortable starting either of them moving forward, which is a very nice problem to have. Who do we put in net for this one? Well, it doesn't really matter.

We get the struggling Red Wings on the second half of a back to back tomorrow night also. We're waiting in Detroit while they are at NJ tonight and will have to fly back late. That has to be something we can take full advantage of.

15-5-1 since the 10 game losing streak. That's a pretty quick turnaround, no?

Need to keep this rolling though. We're still only on pace for about 94 points and the final playoff team last season had 95.

We're in right now due to some big wins against rivals, but also due to some stumbling by others. And while we've won 8 of 10, those two losses were blowouts that really stung.

We can start by spanking Detroit tomorrow and keep it rolling.
