MLB.com ranks the Tigers 30th in the pre-season power ratings. Doug will still pick them to "own" the Central.

Actually, I don't think doug will talk about the Tigers at all. Any baseball post he puts up will be his usual "bash the Indians" dribble, that he posts over and over. If another AL Central team starts the season strong...he'll bash them as well. I think the only POSITIVE baseball posts, we will hear from doug, will center around Verlander and the Astros. (Once doug develops a man crush...he stays with it!)

Jose Iglesias will play his last season as a Tiger for $6.275mil as he and the Tigers avoided arbitration by signing a contract that was basically halfway between the team's offer and Iglesias' asking price. The Tiger front office will be hoping for a solid year from Hot-Shot Jose in order to flip him at the trade deadline for a young prospect.

Detroit's??? Well, I don't know if you heard (being so busy posting about 1948 and Kluber) but Ian Kinsler was traded to the Angels, leaving Dixon Machado as the apparent second baseman. Machado has been with Detroit for several years, being used in a reserve role and moving back and forth between Detroit and Toledo. Appears to be a decent fielder but only a so-so hitter. I am sure Detroit hopes that some prospect in their system (Dawel Lugo or Sergio Alcantara?) steps up and offers some competition at the position. For more detailed information on Detroit infield prospects, you might want to check out Fangraphs or Baseball Reference.
