This is the league that I posted asking for keeper help about a month and change ago. 12 teams, PPR, bonus points for long TDs, 1/50 punt or kick return yards. We keep 2 offensive players and 1 IDP. Start 1 QB, 2 RBs, 2 WRs, 1 TE, 1 RB/WR/TE, 1 K, 1 P (yes, punter), 7 IDPs, and we have 6 on the bench.

My keepers are RB Shady McCoy and WR Michael Thomas (who you guys talked me into! J/K, I'm a grown ass man). Landon Collins is my IDP keeper for those who care.

I have the #10, 12, and 15 picks, so getting the chance to grab 3 on that turn instead of 2 really gives me an advantage. Especially, since I am the only one with the extra pick in the first round. Nobody else has multiple picks in any round until the 7th after the 1st and that is also my extra pick. Couple all that with a solid (but not spectacular) set of keepers and a long line of fantasy success in this league and I should be one of the favorites coming in to this season.

This is the list of guys who are the best available, according to an ADP list that I used about a month ago. I have added a couple guys who are rising, but I am basically trying to make a best 15 list and hope I get 3 of the guys towards the top of the list. My problem is that I am running into a lot of hair splitting after the top 6 or so. It seems like 7 through about 20something is pretty much the same tier and there is not much difference between any of the players. This is not how I have these guys ranked, by the way.

RB Todd Gurley - I expect to go 1st.
WR Jordy Nelson - I expect to go 3rd.
RB Marshawn Lynch - I expect to go in the middle of the first 5 to 8 range.
WR TY Hilton - Could go 2nd or 3rd, should be gone by pick 7 or 8 at the very latest.
RB Leonard Fournette - Could go as high as 2. Not expecting him to fall past 4 unless he just sucks in the preseason.

After that, it is pretty much up in the air. I know anything can happen, especially in this kind of draft. There are a couple of inexperienced guys that have joined in the past few years who are getting used to the IDP aspect of things and the unique waiver wire and such. There are also a few very knowledgeable guys who will give me a run for the money.

RB Lamar Miller -
WR Brandon Cooks
RB Isaiah Crowell
WR Deandre Hopkins
QB Tom Brady
WR Doug Baldwin
RB Christian McCaffrey
WR Terrell Pryor
RB Joe Mixon
WR Allen Robinson
RB Spencer Ware
RB Carlos Hyde
TE Travis Kelce
WR Sammy Watkins
WR Devante Adams
WR Demaryius Thomas
WR Tyreek Hill
QB Drew Brees
RB Ty Montgomery
RB Mike Gillislee
WR Keenan Allen
RB Dalvin Cook
WR Martavious Bryant
WR Jarvis Landry

I think if I did have to make a rankings list right now, it would look something like this...

Gurley
Nelson
Hilton
Miller
Fournette
Lynch

(tier break)

Cooks
Crowell
D. Thomas
D. Hopkins
Baldwin
A. Robinson
Landry (assuming he is not suspended)
Kelce
McCaffrey - I am just so damn intrigued by him and I am not the only one. The guy at 2 has been talking him up a lot lately, and I am throwing fuel on that fire with the whole, PPR and points for return yards comments. Either way, I really think he will be gone by the time I pick at 10. Rookie RBs are kind of a wild card with this crew. I grabbed ADP way late his rookie year, but Elliott went number 1 overall last season. Other guys have fallen in between.

Really big on McCafrey in this league too... he would be my BRBA... Not high on lynch nor fournette here...

My Ranking would be

1. Jordy Nelson
2. Brandin Cooks(could be scary)
3. McCaffrey
.......

then 4-8 are pretty far from my top 3 and are all WR... hard to rank them but

4. D. Thomas
5. TY Hilton
6. Baldwin
7. Allen Robinson
8. Hopkins

after that, i would go back to the RBs.... But in a PPR league, i am not high on any of those RBs posted... Might go Mixon over them all...

McCaffery should be good to own in a PPR league

Not with everyone on the Brandin Cooks hype. 120 targets if he's lucky. Out in the cold too often. No dome, no thanks.

I'm liking Cook more and more everyday.
Jordy is a stud.
Gurley should have enough volume to bounce back.
McCaffrey, yeah, I guess.
Fournette, if anything, is probably easily traded.
Baldwin seems pretty steady.
Crowell is not a typical choice in this type of league.

Not a fan of Miller or Kelce, but might adjust my thinking on them in-draft.

Not touching DT, TYH (without Luck), Hopkins, or Robinson (maybe at 15.... maybe)

as long as you are drafting RBs/WRs with those 1st three picks, you'll be fine.

Personally, I like the Crow more than Miller/Lynch/Fournette, but that's me.
Also like the potential of McCaffery in a PPR league, but wouldn't pull the trigger in the top 15, even considering 24 keepers gone.

just to give more on my Brandin Cooks "hate"...

8 road games...
one @Arizona (so not really "outside") was awesome week 15, 7 for 187 and 2 TD.
one @KC was good enough in week 7, 7 for 58 and a TD.

the rest? 6 games, 30 catches, 287 yards, 0 TD.

risky pick in the cold of New England.

IDK... The saints offense is known to be a bad away offense... Not sure if you can blame it on Cooks... If the patriots have a good away offense, then doesn't that mean the opportunities will still be there for cooks... I cant imagine him just starting to drop passes just because he is not in new Orleans...

True enough.... doesn't make me want to crown him a top ten guy either though. Especially knowing the Pats' spreading the love ways.

The guy at 4 has been talking up Dalvin Cook the past few days. It really depends on how this preseason goes as to how this will end up shaking out.

True, and I would 100% agree if this was standard. He is not going to get to 9 TDs. But in a ppr you want this type of risk because of the upside. Talk about someone almost guaranteed for 100+ catches. the hardest thing in fantasy sports is to know when to take the situation over talent and give versa. This one is screaming situation. But for all we know he can be a total bust.

And I think I love the punter being rostered. I think better than a kicker. Skill is easier to measure in game. And every punter punts at least once in a game.

So, I started pondering this... should I explore a trade for Ezekiel Elliott? In this league, we can keep 2 offensive players and we can keep them as long as we want with no draft pick penalties. I would be offering one of my picks that I have been talking about (#10, 12 or 15), so I would still have 2 of those picks and my keepers (McCoy and Michael Thomas) to build around.

Some things to consider against this move...

Zeke is one suspension away from missing A LOT more time. Maybe he gets that and calms down, but maybe not.

My team will come out of the gate much weaker. I would basically lose the advantage I have picks wise, but I would make up for that with a much improved keeper and (hopefully) a much stronger team come playoff time.

The weeks where he is suspended would hurt greatly while trying to make moves. This league starts 16 players and only has 6 bench spots. Zeke would be holding down 1 of those spots. When the bye weeks start coming, it would be a lot harder for me to make moves because of this. I would have to put someone on the ww that I don't want to drop (since I always have to anyway), but even more so in this scenario.

I feel like I would HAVE to draft McFadden, so I feel like I would HAVE to reach for him.

Our draft is the Sunday before his hearing, so the suspension may get reduced or wiped away, or they may try to put it off until next year, like the Pats did with Brady's deflategate suspension.

So... any thoughts on whether this is worth it? I will add that I have not made contact with the owner yet, but I will put out a small feeler here in a minute and ask him what he would want for him.

Yeah, I'm not big on Cooks either. WR seem to go to New England to die.
Someone please explain why I was stupid enough to draft him in the Breeze league?

The players at the beginning of this thread. I would be trying to trade #15, but may have to settle for 10 or 12.

This trade would be at the draft. So, I would give him the pick and he would give me Zeke.
