wild (?) predictions for 2017 season

here is my annual pre TC training camp thread

1) nate sudfeld will get some action vs actual 2nd team defenses in the preseason . sure colt will get some tune up snaps but the skins need to see what suds can do vs a rise in competition

2) Fat Rob will start at RB and push 1000 yds . perine will learn in year one but he will show well i think . CT could be the teams 2nd leading rusher . Marshall will be the camp surprise and make the team

3) Tyrell Pryor will break the bank this year , catch about 85 balls and get about 1200 yds and double digit tds . Reed will break 1000yds and get double digit tds , crowder will push 1000yds as well 5tds . dox will put up crowder like rookie year numbers around 55 catches and 700 yds maybe 5 tds harris will separate himself from grant and davis

4) Kc will push 43tds combined passing and rushing

5) redskins offense will surprise NFL and be close to record production . Red zone production will rise 40 %

6) redskins o/line will be top 5 again with Kujo getting 8 starts . Roullier might see some action in short yardage sets .this is a watch and learn year for him

7) our draft will be pretty good , most will make the team or practice squad

8) Allen will be the opening day starter but will have a slow start then come on late . 5 sacks for him

9) anthony lanier will be the other starting de this year in a huge upset

10) NT will still be a weakness but FA pipkin will make a good contribution . ionman will be cut . taylor will be this years ziggy hood .

11) TM's suspension will hurt him immensely allowing smith to take the position and produce consistently (maybe double digit sacks ) jr will be healthy and chip in 7 . TM will have a reduced role and be let go at the end of the season

12) ryan anderson wont really be a great OLB . he will however be moved to ILB and he and brown will regulate compton and foster to the bench

13) our starting safeties will start out a little slow however the long nightmare will be over for us as these guys will be a good play making tandem . depth will still be and issue

14) this could be josh normans last season here

15) fuller will take the CB position away from BB . BB will thrive in the slot while moreau will be groomed to replace norman

16) CB will be on our radar for the draft if qb is settled

17) dunbar will make a jump and be a competent nickel CB

18) the skins defense lacks depth and any real depth on the d/line however it wont be the train wreck it has been for half this decade . it will come in at around 17th overall , just enough to steal a few games (2) and turn potential tds into FGs . another draft or 2 (depending on qb situation ) and this defense could turn into a champioship level squad

19 ) tomsula will work miracles with our young d/line and once the talent level gets addressed it could be a force . i think pipkin will be his pet project

I hope you are right about #4. Kc had 29 total Td's last year. Now you predict 43. With an improved defense and running game this should be interesting. skinsdad is KC a top 5 fantasy football QB this season?

I agree on Fat Rob, Cousins total TD's and I HOPE #20 would cancel out #14.
If we miss the playoffs twice then yes, he likely becomes a cancer.

While these number would indicate a very good season for us, the primary question of the 2017-18 season will be....are even gaudy numbers like the ones listed by Dad going to be enough to power this team past both Dallas and the NYG's? Surely the goat-ropers will take a step back, but even then a step back for them after going 13-3, likely looks like a 10 or 11 win season. By every account after last year's 11-5 and a second place finish, the rebuilt and restocked NYG'S are trending up. For us, 10 wins while optimistic, would be a pretty good season that likely qualifies for a playoff berth, it could also mean that playoff spot to be one of the wildcards if that.

There are a lot of things that can change the fortunes of a team between now and the beginning of the 2017-18 season. Even more that alters what happens and who qualifies for the post season. Count the TDs. Yes. If we put up those offensive numbers, we will win the division.

That would be a 72% increase over last year. Maybe @dad was being a bit too optimistic.

Just depends on the defense. This could be a sign that, once again, we had to throw an inordinate amount just to try and stay ahead of our weak defense. In fact, if our defense and run game improve, I expect KC's total numbers to actually decrease this year only because we shouldn't have to pass as often. I would still expect his QBR, completion %, Y/Att and TD/INt ratio to be strong, just total yds, total attempts, and total completions to actually come down this year. This would actually be a good sign for the team in that we are multifaceted and improved in other aspects of the team, especially the defense.

i agree. I do expect the total TD# to increase because last year I think they were an anomaly and too low. He has better redzone targets this year. But I think 43 might be very aggressive. Maybe mid 30s.

I agree with that. The defense and running game should be better this year and KC stats should drop has far as yards and completions. His Td's should increase b/c we kicked way too many FG's last year.

2015, KC had 34 total TDs.

2016, he had 29 total TDs.


43 total TDs would be 14 more TDs than 2016, a 48% increase over 2016.

It would be a 27% increase over 2015.

I can see an increase happening.

It makes the generic you a coward...period.
