Really bummed about Danny Kanell. I love his radio show with Russillo so now who knows what will happen to it. I've been a fan of that program since it was The SVP Show with Russillo and knowing Ryen Russillo, I bet he's super pissed they did his partner like this. Especially considering they were really making headway and finding a groove after Van Pelt left. This sucks.

Also, how cold blooded is that Ed Werder firing? Dude has been there almost 20 years, his daughter is sick or just got recently got somewhat ok (can't remember which), and they cut him the day before the NFL draft, one his busiest days. Just a reminder that Corporate (not just ESPN), is cruel.

And lastly, if you find yourself upset at any of these firings but you also watch shows like First Take, YOU are the problem. Lots of the people getting cut today do quality work but ESPN invests into shit mongers that appeal to the lowest common denominator to get ratings. If you want better TV, demand better TV. Stop watching crap like First Take (or Bayless on FS1) and seek out quality coverage.

Damn everything about this is so spot on. Especially the last part. ESPN was willing to pay Bayless like 4-5 million a year, but have no problem cutting 100 people. People need to quit watching that shit. A lot of the people being let go today, are some of the brightest and smartest people in journalism. As a society we are smarter for having read their stuff. Now were stuck with dumbasses like Stephen A Smith, Bayless and Shannon Sharpe. Christ.

Mike and Mike have a Jayson Stark trivia question this morning, hours later he's gone. Ouch.

Either way, it's a long time, it was pretty stupid, and the Giants can ill-afford his absence. I guess he was thinking, "Hey, it's an odd-numbered year, anyway..."
Agreed. I know they have a right to do things outside of the game. but when your dollars come from your physical performance and well-being thats not real bright

What the fuck is up with that stupid hayseed and his dirt bike?

Do you know when he wrecked it? Specifically, was his last start pre or post wreck?
That fuckwit did it on a day off in Colorado, probably high as fuck. He pitched the day before.

I think they should take all this money they're saving on personnel and use it to produce a pay-per-view special where Erin Andrews does a donkey show. That'll cure what ails 'em.
It'd be really annoying to think that Draymond Green would get to bang Erin Andrews.

Yep. If I break my leg motorbiking, my employers are gonna be pissed but there isn't much they can say or do about it. I'm on my own time, beches! And life would go on for them pretty much the same; no discernible loss of revenue, etc.

Can't recall whom it was that started the whole dealie of contract clauses prohibiting dangerous activities...wanna say it was some former Atlanta Brave?

That's a shame. I always liked Stark but then again he's from Philly.

If he hadn't been baked, he probably would have tensed up and died on impact.

Weed is so awesome.

Local reports are "no definitive time table".

Fox Sports' Ken Rosenthal reported Bumgarner could be out six to eight weeks, but ESPN's Buster Olney reported the Giants believe he may miss even more time.

On Monday, Bumgarner declined to give reporters a possible timetable for his return.

Also, it's his shoulder, so depending on the severity, who's to say he'll ever come "back." I've had him on my fantasy team since he was in the minors. Had a feeling I should have traded him preseason.

Son of a bitch! Get me a drink.
