Where the hell have you been? :D

Anywho, We can kiss Reddick goodbye now. He will become the first LB picked and maybe even in the top 10. Heck, Watt may even be gone now before our pick. If that happens I would trade back for sure unless someone else falls that should not. I would love to see Barnett fall to us. If not then we can grab an extra pick trading back.

I wouldn't be upset with Barnett. That dude was a stud at Tennessee.

This draft is going to be quite interesting. So many differing thoughts on everyone's mock drafts. Quite a few elite guys with question marks, no clear cut #1 QB, will RB's fall or go early, will TE's like Howard and Njoku go in the top half of the draft.

I'm hoping both TE's are off the board by our pick so Quinn isn't even tempted to go that route.

I've read where this is supposedly a good draft for the TE position, lot of depth to make viable players available in subsequent rounds. That said, Quinn strikes me as a BPA manager. Seeing who some of the prospects have been that have had multiple interactions (Taco Charlton comes to mind) I can see where the Big Board for the Lions will be tilted towards D to begin with.

He's making his list,
Checking it twice,
Knows who's been naughty,
Selecting who's right -

Almost feels like Christmas......

Just like last year when A'shawn fell to us in the 2nd.

I think EVERY GM in the NFL says they do BPA.

Either way, this is shaping up to play nicely for the Lions. The fact that we need defense and this is a defense stacked draft.

Most do say so, and there are a lot of "We were surprised that he was still available..." quotes on draft night that are used to justify why a specific person and not position was taken. It's just that I think Quinn is more likely to build his Big Board with a combination of attitude, talent, and value to the team. Although I wouldn't be outraged if OJ Howard was the first pick because he was available and the Lions could not come up with a way of increasing the value that pick generated (by either trading out of the pick, or choosing a different player), it's more based on faith in management's skill at doing their job than my desire to see a specific player or player position being taken.

Millen, for all his ineptitude, did the right thing when he went with Calvin Johnson after whiffing on several first round WR's. Past performance is no guarantee of future results (although it can be a pretty good indicator of likelihood of success), and we're not privy to know what Jim Bob is drawing up that needs a second TE if one of Howard's ability is in the mix. That has to be factored into value for determining the BPA.

The O-line, on paper, looks much better than before free agency. I want to see the D improved. There are a lot of first round worthy defensive players in this year's draft. Until proven otherwise, I'm trusting that Bob Quinn and company will make the right move to get the best value out of this draft, even if it starts with a round one TE.

OJ Howard is going in the top 10. And not by accident (Ebron). OJ is actually worth it.

I love the fact that TJ Watt has been mocked to us on a few boards. Wouldn't mind a beast End opposite Ansah. I know he probably thrives more in a 3-4, but I think he's big enough to play DE. Just look at Khalil Mack.

Caleb Brantley taking a page out of the Joe Mixon draft prep book. Absolutely blows my mind how some of these guys just can't stay out of trouble. You are sitting in a winning lottery ticket, all you have to do is keep your nose clean for a few months and they STILL can't get out of their own way.

Yeah was pretty dumb, but if Quinn doesn't care about character maybe we get a steal later in the draft

I don't think its DV its assault like Mixon and Quinn has said Mixon is still on our draft board

Edit "He is facing a misdemeanor count of simple battery."

The police report says the 307-pound Brantley punched the 120-pound victim in the face. Although the report says the victim pushed Brantley first, it says that the “use of force was clearly out of retaliation and not self defense” and that Brantley’s force “far exceeded what was reasonable or necessary.” Two witnesses saw Brantley punch the woman, police say."

Keep seeing this guy mocked to us in the 2nd and 3rd

"Pro Football Focus compared Michigan CB Jourdan Lewis to Denver Broncos CB Chris Harris Jr..

"Whether or not Lewis can ever reach the lofty heights that Harris has, the similarities are there," writes the PFF analysis team. "Both were viewed by critics as being undersized, but their play has gone well beyond that. Like Harris, Lewis is excellent at locating the ball and making a play." The Michigan standout likely would have seen late first- or early second-round interest prior to being hit with a misdemeanor domestic violence accusation in mid-March after allegedly getting into a physical argument with his live-in girlfriend. As is, he is now more likely to fall off the board near the end of Day 2 or early on Day 3. CBS Sports' Dane Brugler questioned whether Lewis would be drafted at all immediately after he was hit with the misdemeanor charge, but there have been few indications since that Lewis could go undrafted."
