Why no, no I haven't. I've been to South Lake Tahoe, but never got out in a boat. Used to hike over in Desolation Wilderness but haven't been back there in years

SLT is nice. Be glad you never went in. The water is damn near freezing, year round. Not sure what kind of music you like, but there's a killer radio station out of the area: Truckee/Tahoe 101.5

Yeah, been to Truckee too! But not in the winter...nuts to that.

I had a real bad experience in one of those glacier lakes about 14 years ago. Wife wanted me to swim out with her to this rock a few yards from shore. I'm not a strong swimmer to begin with, and about halfway there I seized up, started to sink. She had to fish my ass out of there. After that, I just stuck to backpacking and hiking.

Beautiful country, though. Wish we could get back soon.

Thinking about ski locations this year. I was reading there are some great family resorts in the SLC area. Jackson Hole also has great ski packages that include everything from your airfare to your rentals.

But for the record, we did end up going to Colorado. Skied Telluride, Copper and Keystone. Fantastic trip.
