Looks like Profar didn't know what to on the base paths.

He made several blunders during the WBC too.

There was no reason for him to make any kind of turn like that since he's looking right at the guy coming up with the ball.

Crawler, hope you are watching

Good win and encouraging signs from Gallo and the pen. First game this season where I could say the pen looked good, the current composition of the bull pen ( Dyson closing) just wasn't going to work and a shake up was badly needed.

Gallo definitely doesn't look overmatched anymore. He still strikes out a bit, but he usually puts up a fight before going down.

Well.... anyone who has been watching this team so far this season would probably agree that this team probably won't win the next 2 games. I don't think they will. Doesn't mean they won't, but the choke job last night shouldn't inspire a lot of confidence.
Tell us more but leave out the BS. How do you come up with this crap?

If Gallo can keep things going he might be the guy to take over LF when Beltre finally comes back.

Bet you're right.

I can't imagine that he wouldn't be at this point. His approach is so dramatically different this season, and the lack of anyone stepping up out of our 3 headed monster, makes this a given for me. At least today.

Really would like to see Profar get sent out to get regular time/AB though. Right now, and maybe it's just me, but I think we're in the process of totally squandering him and his future value.

I think any one of the guys that make up that three headed monster could have done well this season with regular consistent playing time. Gallo is doing well because he has gotten regular consistent playing time coupled with him being more ready than before. All of those three guys were ready as well. They were doomed to failure by the manager/organization making a very bad decision to try and split playing time between the three of them. You could have substituted Gallo for any one of those guys had Beltre been healthy and Joey would have failed also.

Taking 3 relatively inexperienced guys and giving then 4 AB every 4/5 days makes no sense and I'm shocked that the entire organization is on board with this thought process. Bye no means am I putting this poor decision making strictly nor solely at the feet of Banister.

But I agree with you about Gallo. If he wasn't ready to step up then the number of ABs wouldn't matter b/c he'd be domed to begin with.

I heard someone on the radio say the other day that Banister's philosophy is that one of those guys should force their way into the lineup everyday. If that is true then that is a bad philosophy.

Looks like it may happen when Beltre returns making Bannister's theory right at least this time.

His theory(if ii is actually his) entails forcing their way into the lineup while only playing inconsistently though. That doesn't work. Gallo's play as well as Mazara's last year at this time proves that consistent playing time is necessary just as it was in the past for guys like Palmer, Teixeira, Young, Blalock, Elvis, Kinsler, and Odor. Long ago it was true for guys like Hargrove, Sundberg, Wills, Juando, Sierra, and Pudge. They all thrived after getting consistent playing time as very young players.

Not really. None of those 3 are winning that spot ATM.
