theyd have to get rid of 1 or both of their (close to) $5 million dollar goalies (buyout?) ... i guess the stars standings rebound prospects are better than the canucks of course ???

They pretty much have to either bury or buy out one or both of them at this point. Nill destroyed his blue line last summer so saying they blew a year of their “window” isn’t really true because they had shut it themselves before the season but having even a replacement-level goalie likely would’ve still carried the Stars to the playoffs. Another season like that, with Seguin heading into his walk year, and the Stars would probably have to go the implode route.

So why not take a shot with Miltsy? Unless they want to be the ones who overpay Elliott on a ridiculously long contract...
