they did just that with several players last year, and when they didn't come back with their acts cleaned up, a couple got traded.
Yeah, Keuchel just won the Cy Young 2 seasons ago, and McCullers had the best home ERA in baseball last year I believe. He gives us a tough time. And like you say, our pitching has also been pretty good and in a hitter's park against a quality lineup. It's 2 games. There will be more stretches like this through the season even if this team ends up winning 90 games.
Haha....if 2 lousy games 10 days before your trip is enough to get you to this point then yeah, probably best to cancel and spend it on something else.
Sure, but the other side of that coin is last year we had people declare the season over in June. Then again in July. Then again in August. And what ended up happening? The team went into the last series of the season with real WC chances. It's two friggin games man.
Yep, 2 games. And soon it will be 20. And then it will be 60 and then it will be October. Rinse, repeat.
The weather up there has this effect on people, and so do the last 15 years of being a Mariners fan. Combine the two and it's no surprise that after just 2 games it's easy to foresee a losing trend. That being said, not this team, not this year! Our pitching has outperformed expectations thus far, and the hitting has underperformed just the same. I don't think we have seen close to what this team is and who they are. They'll get settled and soon enough we will see who they are, and hopefully our pitching is close to what we have seen with the bats come into their own over the next couple of weeks. Long way to go, hang in there good buddy!
Meh. I have no emotional attachment to this team anymore. The last 15 years have drained me of that. Besides, fishing is starting up and turkey season opens in 10 days. I don't have time to spend four hours in front of the tube watching the Mariners every day.
