Who was the other school? Can't imagine he turned down a scholarship to walk on at VT.....unless it was UVA.

Not sure of details about scholarship or walk-on, but it appears to be Paris Smith indeed.
He has tweeted a lot about VT in the last day or so.

His video looks pretty solid, kinda short for WR but built well and has good speed and playmaking ability. He has very good hands and makes several really nice catches. On the first clip, he looks like he could be physical as well, maybe he could play on D too?

Grassfield HS, Chesapeake..HC Marty Asprey , couldn't find any info on where he went to school? I am gonna guess he may had a WO opportunity at UVA as well? Just a hunch.

Looks like a solid walk-on prospect! Glancing at his video, would be surprised if he didn't have offers from ODU, JMU, etc.

As expected, Green committed to the Wolverines yesterday. Wish we coulda got him.

Green probably was impressed by all the top O-line recruits Michigan has been getting. In VT land the O-line position wasn't respected for several years by the head coach and I think that's why we ended up with Holmes as the #1 guy for 2012

Michigan is a good choice by Green. He would have gotten eaten up by SEC defenses. This way, he can play for one of the top 2 schools in his conference (one that is nowhere near the SEC on defense) and one that will have a big o-line.

Or because all the RBs ahead of him left early and were high draft picks and because one of our top RB recruits failed to qualify.

The coaches are supposed to prepare for players leaving early. They knew there was no way RW or Wilson were going to stay all 4 years. Harris would've been a true freshman. They don't like to count on a true freshman. I can't remember the last good RB to not redshirt. Coleman really shouldn't have played this year and I bet they didn't want him to but they had to. Players notice what exactly is going on down on the field even if Beamer doesn't and they can't like the OL situation at VT

59 carries for Wilson all year LOL. That comes out to 4.5 per game. No wonder I forgot. But the point is GENIUSES that they weren't counting on a true freshman to carry the load. It's a shame I had to point that out. I guess I give some of you too much credit
