I'll lay even odds that he would change his tone and say he never said that and that Saban is the most awesome and honest coaching in coaching history.

No chance. I think Saban is a very good coach. In the SEC, with the built in advantages they provide -- he is a great coach.

We've had this discussion already. He took a 6-6 MSU team and after 4 years, they were 6-6. Never won 10 games, got blew out in 3 bowl games. Same with the NFL. 2 years and led Miami to nothing. Not even a playoff appearance.

I will say he is one of, if not, the greatest recruiter of all time.

He is, when he is in the SEC. 5 years in the B1G, 0-3 in bowl games (losing by an avg of 3+ TD's), no conference titles. Nothing. NFL -- same thing. 2 seasons and nothing. Not even a playoff appearance.

Btw, on the subject of both Alabama and FSU making it - they play early in the year, so that would be interesting. The loser would no doubt have to finish the rest of the season undefeated. But I wonder how close the 1st game will need to be, as you have to wonder if a 52-6 type blowout by one team might do some damage.
