Romo is opening up the market by forcing Dallas' hand to release him, but it really comes down to how much money he'd put on the side.

Romo will sign with Seattle for the league minimum so he can sleep with Wilson's wife and sneak into Paul's office and stab him, to get revenge for the playoff botched snap!

He better become interested in some place, because he is going to be homeless.
Yep. Just a matter of how much money he'll leave to the side to entice a couple of these teams to bite the bullet with the lame duck they have right now such as Taylor, Osweiler, Smith, Siemian/Lynch, etc.

Denver has the most cap space about $33m KC currently followed by Buf and Houston @ $26m and finally KC round $4m.
Naturally numbers will change when/if the current QBs for those teams are released.
I don't see KC being in serious contention for his services because of the cap?
Denver on paper looks to be the sexiest. Add Elway to the considerations and likely a front runner. Yet they have two young QBs.
Houston just paid Oz.
Buffalo could be the long shot.
Things against Dallas is they won't get a huge return. Teams know Dallas needs to release Romo. Age/$/injuries also weigh heavily.

Why KC?
I thought everyone liked Smith there?
Not really- we just tolerate him because we know how much better a mediocre QB is than gutter-trash like Cassel. Reid might be a different question but his playcalling leads me to think behind the politics of it this could be McNabb 2.0.

The Broncos don't consider Siemian/Lynch lame ducks. Elway has been clear and emphatic that they want to get Lynch prepared to be the starter. Denver just doesn't know yet what they have in these two but arguably are going to give them a shot. I don't see Romo to Denver but I could be wrong if the money side of things is right. We'll see.

KC has a lot of cap room they can liquidate with relatively minimal repercussions. They can absolutely do it if they want to do so. Maybe at the cost of a Dontari Poe, but doable.

I agree- and the Broncos have been pretty clear (or at least as you can in a rumormill) in their lack of interest. I was just putting it out there for conjecture purposes. Even for KC it would take a lot of different moves to make Romo a workable option. It wouldn't be easy for them to do.

The ball is in the team's hands. Romo really can't force anything. The main benefit to releasing him is they can do it sooner and still designate him a post 6/1 cut even if they cut him well before that.

Could be a bad fit IMO. Not sure we would see his best playing outdoors and in cold weather a good portion of the time. But even not at this best he could help that team a lot.

I agree, but that could be said for every team. It's like robbing Peter to pay Paul especially with the minimum amount of cap they currently have. I don't make that deal for Romo when you factor in those things I mentioned: cost, age, injury... too much for me

If he goes to Denver several factors...............Broncos are playing the NFC East this year. He wouldn't make it through the Cowboy game alive. If the Broncos play the Raiders first, he won't make it out of that game alive.

I think the Cowboys are teasing a few teams to see if someone will offer them a 4th or 5th round pick.

That pretty much limits him to Houston of the four rumored teams then. Not saying I disagree. That collar bone, back... will be mighty painful come December. Lucky for him Buffalo doesn't play in Jan/Feb.

I don't really agree here. Charles and Foles would free up 17M right off the bat. Colquitt is another ~3. Hardly losing anything between the 3 I suspect at this point. If you're cutting replacement value players that's pretty different from robbing peter to pay paul. You're just getting rid of dead weight. Trading Smith would bump it up to around 29M in cap space.
