Fuck, I've had so many ailments since turning 50 it's getting tiresome. Developed a case of distal clavicular osteolysis in my left shoulder. Probably from bringing in firewood. It took 6 friggin' weeks to get an orthopedic appt and the X-ray showed the bone damaged.

After the best year of golf ever, I've got surgery scheduled for 1/4/17. If all goes well I should be all set for golf come March. Can't ride my Harley in January anyway so at least the timing's not as bad as it could be but I've never had surgery and I ain't happy about it.

@NEhomer...good luck tomorrow man.

I agree with the ailments after 50...most of my stuff are old joint injuries that just never returned 100%, but were never a bother...my right knee has its good days and bad days...back, samething...nothing that keeps me off the course for long periods, but thank goodness for golf carts.

My dad had hip replacement surgery in 2015... He's 70 but shot his age three times in 2016.

of course not...your mouth was full. : )

Was your procedure where they shave the bone down to create space? If so, I thought it was about a week of healing time.

HEY i did wake up with a funny taste in my mouth!

Yes that's exactly the procedure...recovery's supposed to be not so bad. i know there's gonna be pain but i've had stabbing pain for weeks now. looking forward to it gradually lessening.

I'm giving therapy one more chance, if it doesn't work I'm going to do the same thing. Pain from the knife can't be any worse than it's been for the past three years.

Best year of golf after turning 50! I'm impressed. My game has gone so far downhill since 55 because of my back that I'm embarrassed to play. Noone believes me when I tell them my scores now (I"m an ex-city champ with several club championships). I played golf last summer with my youngest cousin, an avid golfer, and he actually said, "Jesus, how the mighty have fallen." Afraid back surgery is in my near future.

Happy that your surgery went well.
