I think tOSU is better than those FL teams, but I'm not going to argue about it because it's close. Did you expect MI to win the NC withing 2 years?
I don't think you can expect anyone to win a NC within 2 years tbh. I sure as shit didn't expect Saban to do it as fast or as often as he has, that's fer damn sure. I don't expect to see it happen like this at Bama after he retires either.

I guess Hoke should have been given another 5 or 6 years since he was in the toddler stage. Again most coaches are only given three or four years at the most to turn a program around. Obviously Harbaugh has done that but to say that it's in the "infancy stage" is ridiculous. Rich Rod had nothing to work with when he walked in while Harbaugh had raw talent on the team.

Look up the recruiting classes in my post. /thread Doesn't even fucking compare. 2015 was straight a CMU MAC class.

Well then we are in agreement. What Saban and Meyer did was borderline miraculous. Would have been great to see Harbaugh join that exclusive club. I think MI wins a NC with Harbs eventually tho.

Trying to actually compare the two situations is laughable when you see the recruiting classes of both the teams I linked.

He was given 4 fucking years and regressed every time. The fuck are you talking about man?

You actually want me to link the recruiting classes Dick Rod was left to make you look stupid?

But he was just in the toddler stages, he need a few more years so we can see the teenager years.

Definitely would not: New England, Kansas City, Oakland, Pittsburgh, Baltimore, Denver, Dallas, New York (N), Detroit, Atlanta, Tampa Bay, Seattle, Arizona, Miami, and San Francisco.

Very likely would not: Cincinnati, Philadelphia, Houston, Green Bay, Minnesota, New Orleans, Carolina, Tennessee.

I think you're looking at maybe Los Angeles, New York (A), Cleveland, Jacksonville, and maybe Chicago jumping at the opportunity to hire Harbaugh. A couple other teams could join the fold (Washington, Buffalo, Indianapolis, San Diego) if they don't like the direction that their team is headed and think Harbaugh would be a good fit. Buffalo may even be unlikely since my understanding is that Jim Kelly still doesn't like Harbaugh, dating back to their playing days.

I truly don't care one way or the other. But ESPN Radio today made the same type of statement, but said roughly 25 teams in the NFL would bring in Harbaugh over their current coach.

I didn't get to listen to the rest of the talk, as I had a doctors appt. But it was a topic on their today.

And I can say without a doubt Detroit would take Harbaugh over Caldwell. Caldwell is lucky he wasn't fired before this year started and can thank Jim Bob Cooter he is still a head coach.

You're making a huge deal out of a word. Call it whatever you want, but he wasn't even here 2 full seasons when we played tOSU. Only the biggest homers expected us to dominate. Did you think we'd be NC within 2 years??

Hoke was gone the minute we got wind Jim wanted to come home. Anyone would make that trade.

You are a fucking idiot man. I get you are a MSU homer. Good luck with Dontoni and his garbage coaching staff. You are going to need it. How many avys you have to put on for others now for being a moron?

Apparently everyone here thought MI would be B1G champs and NC's by now. I had no idea. I was under the impression this place didn't think much of Harbaugh. Weird.

That one class doesn't mean shit in the scheme of things. Hoke brought in multiple top 10 classes, the talent was there, he just wasn't as good at coaching them up as he was at recruiting them.

How exactly am I Michigan State homer? You mean when I said that the win over a top 15 Notre Dame wasn't a quality win and that we looked like shit? Nearly every avy bet I made last year, I said I expected us to lose the game. The only one I felt confident in when the bet was made was Wisconsin but before the game i was worried about the game.

The two crucial recruiting classes Harbaugh needed to be successful in 2014 and 2015 were trash. You should look up the players of the 2012 recruiting class and see how many are actually with the program. Almost all the blue chip OL prospects were busts. Again you cannot compare.

You aren't looking at the info I posted. I can link you what Rich Rod was given. I can also name all the players he basically drove off because he 100% wanted his players. Rich Rod was given more talent than Harbaugh.

Hoke was gone regardless of Harbaugh. He had no idea of anything going on in the program, allowing concussed players on the field, declining each year, last year was missing a bowl game. There was no way you could bring him back. Either Harbaugh has had some super weak schedules or he has had more in the cupboards than Michigan fans want to give Hoke credit for.

Am I the only one that remembers Michigan fans claiming that the "2015 recruiting class didn't suck it was only because it was a small class" or "look at the average stars"?

It's a combination of rolling with the players that did pan out, and a favorable B1G. I think he needs credit for either making that DLine all world, or those guys actually panning out. Having a great Defensive Line is a huge advantage over most of college football. Having two shutdown corners helps as well. If you have certain things developed and pan out, you can win a lot of ballgames. I also need to mention that most of those players aside from Peppers were mid level to lower 4 stars and even 3 stars. A lot of them weren't even Hoke's top targets. Most had already left or busted.

From what I was told by some higher up folks at U of M is that the Harbaugh camp informed MI that if our AD went, Harbs would be very open to a return. Once those wheels were in motion, Hoke was a dead man walking (if the stories are true).

But ya I agree, he sucked. Was probably gone anyways, but there's a good chance he would have lasted one more year if Harbs wasn't ready cause that's who they wanted all along. U of M may have been willing to wait one more year for him vs. hiring someone new and blowing that opportunity the following season.
