OD is correct in a way. If they don't have enough 6 win teams to fill all of the bowl slots, they go to 5-7 teams. Happened with a couple of teams last year (I think Nebraska was one of them).

However, the decision on which 5-7 teams get bowl games is based on academics, so Oregon would still be out.

The great thing here is Oregon is so young. Young talent all over the field and it has been neat to see them progress and get better each week this season. This just adds experience for the following years.
