I'm guessing it's because of Washingtons SoS.

Which I must admit, is somewhat amusing to me after all the shit you talk about everyone else's schedule.

Lucky for the Washington fans who don't suck, this will not stay because at the very least the Pac12 championship game will push Washington over A&M who would not be playing in one assumably.

Figured it out:

Page 2 of the College Football Playoff committee handbook says:

Page 2, Article 1, Section 8: Two teams from the same conference must be represented in the top 4 until the conference championships have been played. As conference championships get played, suddenly move the conference champions into the top 4 over the 2nd team of represented conference.

That explains it.

I know this says just the top 6 discussion, but I just glanced at the list and from a quick scan it looks like #23 Western Michigan and #24 Boise State are the top 2 non power 5 teams...?

First that seems awful low, I know Western was #17 in the last AP poll. But the top non power 5 team makes one of those top 6 bowl games, and the last couple years they have won that game over a highly rated team. So why isn't any one of them getting any love?

Or did I just overlook a team?
