Yeah the 1st ever Playoff never happened. That's why you insist that the Sugar Bowl W by Ohio State doesn't mean anything. Stop being a biased homer. I can't believe you're pretending the Playoffs are same thing as a neutral site regular season game.
To be fair Ohio State didn't play an Chattanooga. To prep before they played Oregon in the National championship game

But it was an easy game for you because it was neutral site.

How dare you take into account the strength of the other team.

^Alabama's fault USC can't get it's shit together, as we beat them with their own coach they are still paying.
What does this have to do with scheduling Chattanooga as an extra bye week before Auburn?SC opened with Alabama. But they are still finishing with rivals ND and UCLA back to back :noidea:

Because USC could have won if you had been able to schedule a cupcake the week before.

You found the magic ticket, run Charlie, Run!

Not the point. All P5 conferences fit this paradigm. AGs team is in the.PAC, so I used it as a means to demonstrate that dozens of G5 teams are really no worse than, say, Oregon State.

What difference does playing ten P5 teams a year make if most of those P5s are Kansas, Kentucky, Rutgers, Syracuse, and Oregon State?
Why would a conference choose to avoid playing it's own conference members for no other reason than to pad the schedule. The facts are in the original post.

It was the first game of the season. SC could not schedule a bye week. Scheduling Alabana to open did not effect SC finishing the season with two quality opponents. You're talking in circles now. You've already proven the merit in the OP. By not providing a substantial reason for scheduling an FCS team late in the season before a rival. Or given valid reason not to play 9 conference games. Thanks for participating and verifying the OT tho :suds:

Again off topic. You already stated that you schedule an FCS team late in the season. To prep for a rivalry game. In order to gain a position that benefits your teams play off position. And that playing a tougher 9 game conference schedule would be detrimental to their chances. Which verifies the OT. That's all I needed to hear

Does something magic happen when you schedule a 9th conference game? Is it THAT big of a deal? I like being able to schedule 2 OOC SEC teams, and then having one or two to financially help our other state schools, i.e. Furman, Charleston Southern, Presbyterian, SC State, Coastal, Citadel, Wofford, etc.

And on top of that, if you play in a conference Championship game, you have your 9th.

It's only a big deal if you want to schedule like a chickensh1t while avoiding your own conference members.

LSU playing Louisiana-Monroe versus Vandy is a difference without a distinction...

You mean Vandy would be the only SEC East team LSU would play? Of course not. But we do know that when two conference teams meet, one will lose and that will result in more losses to the SEC overall. It wouldn't be so easy for so many SEC teams to get bowl eligible if that was to happen. Better play 8 conference games and schedule Sisters of the Poor.

The cats out of the bag and everyone knows why those two P5 conferences don't play a 9 game conference schedule yet SEC and ACC posters still like to make excuses.

By playing 9 conference games it raises the SOS. And makes stronger OOC SOS more impressive. I agree by not playing a 9 game conference schedule it pads the divisions rankings. Which pads team rankings. But scheduling FSC teams late in the season as an extra bye week before rivalry games..........Thats really hard to excuse imo.

By scheduling 9 conference games it cuts down that practice. By removing an FCS game from the mix. And imposing the conference play format used by the other P5 conferences. Theres no good reason to play an FCS team that late in the season. It takes away from the importance of the regular season

Pac-12 coaches critical of 8-game SEC slate

I can think of approximately 4-5 million other reasons....or say 2.5 million, since every other conference game would be at home if we replaced it.

The article and the PAC coaches are on point. Hopefully the other conferences speak up. And over time the playing field is leveled. They are right backing down from your own conference. In order to schedule a weaker opponent late in their schedules is manipulating the system. And everyone does need to get on the same page at some point with the play off system

 @ the other conferences crying for the SEC to play each other more. They know it's the only way to add losses to their records because they sure as fuck can't do it.

So what i am hearing you say is you are worried your precious SEC would be exposed by playing more conference games?

If the SEC was so damned good, why is their collective conference-game record no better than any other conference? (including FCS conferences, I might add.)
