Your third-string QB gonna be protesting his oppression Thursday night when that defense gets a hold of his ass!

:dhd:

"That defense shutdown Jay Cutler and Alex Smith. It must be an AWESOME defense."

I don't think you understand the question.

How are black Americans responsible for the racism and oppression they have faced?

Last I checked it wasn't black Americans that put them on boats, enslaved them, created laws to keep them poor and treated them like dogs.

Ah, I may have missed the original question. It was actually black Africans that sold the slaves, mostly to the Spanish as the English had the Irish as their slaves.

However, a great deal of time has passed since the 1960's when the most telling and effective civil rights legislation was passed. Now what's holding back American blacks is primarily certain aspects American black culture. Institutionalized racism is incredibly over blown. If you're among the poorest in this country the argument can be easily made that you're better off black, or at least minority, than white. There is no United Caucasian college fund, school diversity quotas (Which are incredibly racist against Asians) or affirmative action.

If you'd like to read an interesting book on it "Please Stop Helping Us" by Jason Reilly was a good read. Mr. Reilly is an American black writer for the Wall Street Journal in his 40's. Granted he is conservative but he makes some pretty solid arguments about racism he encountered growing up and the state of things today.

The book is a few years old however so the most recent events will not be in there.

  • You are ignoring disproportionate laws targeted against black people.
  • The remanance of Red Lining
  • Unfair courts disproportionately incarcerating black people
  • Black people being unfairly targeted by police
  • Subprime Mortgage Scams
  • White Flight
  • Poor Schools
  • School funding system setup to keep schools poor
  • Wage Gaps
All happening within the last 10 years and some going on to this day.

You have to be a fool to think black people have a level playing field in 2016.

Yes they deserve some blame but white people are the ones who set them up for failure.

If you know ANYTHING about psychology you understand it.

Subprime mortgage scam?

Personal responsibility, and knowing what the costs and repercussions are, would have been a big step in the right direction.

White flight...LMFAO...

Laws are not targeting black people, they target criminals. If those criminals happen to be black then so be it. Many on the left point out the different sentencing for crack as compared to powder cocaine as racism (Prior to the fair sentencing act) but gallop pools at the time had blacks approving the laws more than whites. Which makes sense because it was black neighborhoods that crack was destroying. The majority of blacks in congress also supported the those acts.

Studies of areas like Atlanta, D.C. and New Orleans where there are large black population found the exact opposite in disproportionately incarceration. Blacks were more likely to be given less jail time than their white counterparts. The mass incarceration thing is a hoax, blacks commit much more crime, especially violent crime per capita so of course they will be disproportionately represented in jails. You can't look at incarceration rates without looking at crime rates.

White Flight? Really? When neighborhoods start becoming violent people leave and that includes blacks. Most people have most of their money tied up in their homes and can't risk the property values plummeting.

School Funding & Poor schools? In NYC all schools get the same funding per student yet the primarily black schools are the ones failing. Why is that? Could it be that good teachers don't want to be stuck in violent areas? Could it be that the teachers union just transfers bad teachers to where people stop complaining? Why is it that schools with large Asian student bodies just happen to be the highly rated one? Could it be the lack of violence and commitment to education?

This is one of the reasons I back increasing charter schools based on the NYC model. I would prefer to fix existing public schools but that seems to be a pipe dream for the near future. The top rated public school is a charter in Crown Hgts Brooklyn, all students are chosen in a lottery (No cherry picking) and the kids are 98% black & Hispanic. So for any racists who simply think black and hispanic kids are dumb, these schools are proving quite the opposite. The problem is there aren't enough and in some areas the charters are not regulated like they are here.

Subprime Mortgages. Let the buyer beware. Reilly covered some of this in his book and studies show blacks didn't shop around as much as others did.

Wage Gaps? Employers pay as little as they can or as much as they have to. This is so subjective there is no way to really quantify it any more than the wage gap between women and men. How much experience does each candidate have, did the person merely accept the first offer etc

As far as the playing field being leveled it depends on the field. Do you think a white candidate stands a better chance against a black candidate if the hiring manager is black? Do white have affirmative action and diversity quotas?

My overall point is that many aspects of black culture have actually worsened since the 1960's (The ones I pointed out earlier) and if anyone seriously thinks the country is more racist than then they're out of their minds. The government has legislated an even playing field but the rest is up to us. The main issues in today's black communities aren't racism it's violence, lack of regard for education (The complete opposite of Asians for example) the majority of kids being born out of wedlock and being born to parents under the age of 20.

At some point "racism" can't be the answer to everything

I didn't read because there isa no point discussing with people who constantly ignore facts.

There are laws that make crack a stiffer penalty than cocaine.

You're right, we should really stop discussing this with you.

P.S. If you had bothered to read, you would know that he actually addressed your last sentence in his post.

Yes yes. Racism doesn't exist. And black people have had a level playing field since being released as slaves to this day.

Idiots.

You mean the part where he blamed blacks for having shitty education systems despite the fact it was white flight's cause?

Kaepernick has been donating/fund raising millions of dollars since entering the league to help children with shitty situations. Yet many people want to frame him as this bad guy who is only donating money to save face as if 1 million dollars is an insignificant amount of money.
http://www.kidsheartcamp.org/colin-kaepernick
Camp Taylor | Camp for kids with heart disease

After years of diligent hard work, determination and a will to prove himself, Colin was drafted to the NFL as a quarterback for the San Francisco 49ers. Upon receiving his first NFL paycheck, Colin asked his parents to find a charity that supports children with heart disease to gift a portion of his first check to. Thus, a friendship was born between Camp Taylor and the Kaepernick family and over the past five years the Camp Taylor family & the Kaepernick family have formed a tight friendship and bond. Colin often refers to heart campers as "His Kids" and the kids love him!

This is just more proof people are going to frame a story based on their frame of reference and their irrelevant opinions.

bac078_72b673732e0c4db8a6e5b6ffcffcc776.jpg

Question, how does giving money to charity or helping kids out justify his pig-cops socks?

Answer: They don't. It's a "hey I fucked up but look I helped someone in an unrelated way". Damage control is all this shit about charities is. A lot of NFL players run charities or give time and money back to the community. Only a handful of dirtbags lump all police in as bad ones and disrespect their contributions to society.

Dude you just cried about PC police and now all of the sudden you are the PC police!

You can't defend free speech selectively and expect to have your opinion taken seriously. It proves you're just a hypocritical jackass. So why act all offended by the exercise of free speech and tell us how you really feel.

And no silly, our armed forces did not fight for athletes to rise for the flag at sporting events. Standing for the flag is historically a marketing scheme.

Tells people to respect free speech, calls people names for exercising their own right to call Kaep a dipshit.

My post was not created to justify his socks. I that's an entirely different argument. I personally think they were funny and got exactly what he wanted out of it, clearly attention. That makes him successful again. My post was created to use facts to prove CK has long been a philanthropist therefore people saying he only donated to save money are wrong.

Yeah, absolutely I did. Part of freedom of speech is having your speech ridiculed by others.
