So what happens if Albany makes the NCAAT and they get placed in a bracket in North Carolina? Are they going to forfeit?

North Carolina governor rips Gov. Andrew Cuomo's travel ban that cancelled Albany-Duke game

"While Governor Cuomo has initiated a ridiculous boycott of our state, thousands of his citizens continue to move out of New York and now call North Carolina home,'' McCrory said in a statement. "Millions of dollars of misleading, taxpayer-subsidized commercials nor an executive will not stop this exodus. Governor Cuomo, our North Carolina borders are open and our citizens are hospitable. Play ball!"

And I'll point out that last night on pbs news, they claim one in ten NY'rs are HIV positive. Just saying.

@H2S

CBS Sports reporter Jon Rothstein reported that Syracuse graduate transfer target Andrew White III will visit Michigan State. White III previously visited both Louisville and Syracuse.

While Syracuse looks primed for a good season next year, White III is viewed as a potential difference-maker because he would provide the Orange another proven scoring option next season, as well as a proven shooter.

The 6-foot-7 guard averaged 16.6 point and 5.7 rebounds for Nebraska last year. He also shot 41 percent from behind the arc.

Syracuse lost its three leading scorers and its three top players in 3-pointers made in Mike Gbinije, Malachi Richardson and Trevor Cooney. Replacing that production looks like the biggest challenge facing the Orange next season.

Other teams frequently mentioned as being interested in White III, include Cincinnati and VCU.

Michigan State's emergence as an option is particularly interesting because the Big Ten has a rule stating players transferring within the conference must sit out a season unless they obtain a waiver. Other players, notably Michigan's Spike Albrecht and Max Bielfeldt, have received that waiver as graduate transfers. In their cases, however, both players were told by Michigan that the Wolverines no longer had room for them.

A report on mlive.com, which covers both Michigan and Michigan State, said that White's potential transfer would be allowable because of that precedent
.

Crazy year for our teams. SU really wants this guy.

@douggie ... Our boy, Silent G, signed with the Pistons.

Syracuse, N.Y. — The Detroit Pistons announced yesterday that the organization had signed former Syracuse basketball guard Michael Gbinije to a 3-year deal. Terms of the contract were not publicly released.

Gbinije, 24, was the 49th pick of the June draft. He played one game for the Pistons in the Orlando Summer League, then sat out the rest of the session with an ankle sprain.

Gbinije has spent time since Orlando in Detroit. He will join the Nigerian National Team in Las Vegas as that African nation prepares for the Rio Olympics. As part of its training, Nigeria will play Team USA in Houston on Aug. 1. You can watch that game on NBA TV.

I agree man. He was as solid of a player SU's had in many years. I wish him the best.

Seems to me you're laying a bit low lately. SU's bball team is shaping up so I'm getting a bit pumped.

Naw man. I'm on vacation this week and I've been very busy with all sorts of family issues since the first of the year. The past ten months has been kind of rough on my family. My wife lost her father and mother(who lived with us) and we lost a niece(my brother-in-law's daughter). So my posting time has been cut back. And work has been absolutely crazy busy. I'll be around more often starting the next couple of weeks.

I'm also excited for the new season. Thank god for College Football. That sport definitely makes the wait from April to November seem shorter than what it actually is.

Excited about the team that Manning is putting together. Shooters galore, promising bigs and a good PG.

I'm very sorry to hear of all the problems. Give your wife a hug for me and you take your time getting back here.

20 conference games makes sense with 16 teams and a conference network.

20 years is a "very looooong relationship" with ESPN. I wonder how much $$$$$$ that is?

Agreed with this. I was relieved to see that the ACC Network was finally coming, but I'm still pretty anti-ESPN, for so many different reasons.
