So Denzel off the bench is Chicagos best shooter?

Am I missing someone?

Bulls or Pacers?

You know which way I'm leaning...

The Heat hater in me loves this move, but the basketball analyst in me is confused by it...Gar Forman has generally been a solid GM in during his tenure with the Bulls, but IMO Fred Hoiberg is not the right coach for such an aging, veteran backcourt that can't shoot threes (Rondo/Wade).

Ain't no player that's going to get the same respect as Kobe. Kobe has five rings. Wade has three. Kobe carried his team when he was the only player that could shoot. Wade is a good player but he is not a Kobe.

Wow.

DWade was never the highest paid player in Miami. That's just crazy.

In the words of Wes Scantlin - Wade took it all away and shoved it in Riley's face...

@TurnUpTheHeat @Heatles84 Suck it.

We both were hoping Riley wouldn't risk the future or offer a nickel more than reported.

It stings a bit, and it's weird that he's gone, but he was offered a fair deal.
He took basically the same money/years from the Bulls, so it was not a money decision.

He's a FA.
It's a business.
Does he think he's coming home to rescue his home town like James did?

it defies belief over the course of, what? 13 years there? he was never the highest paid player....seems strange...

when was the last time you saw a guy that played for a team so long and won multiple championships leave on such poor circumstances? that dude is/(was?) the Miami Heat.

I think Lakers+USC said it correctly - He wanted the same respect that Kobe got, but he took less money so that Bosh and Lebron could sign and he set the mentality for taking less money. He was offered a good deal in a year where crazy deals is the new norm and he wanted one last good deal. I understand his wanting a great deal, but none of these teams are going to give some one like him the respect that Kobe got. Just isn't going to happen

The Big 3 had near identical salaries/contracts.
If he made a hair less, there was a legit reason for it.

And as @trojanfan12 pointed out, Lakers had enough cap to pay Kobe and try for others.
Heat offered him every nickel they had, and 10M more then he was negotiating for a year ago.

Yeah, 13 years.

Glenn Rice and Mourning were legit players in their day. But DWade changed that franchise the day he got there. We just didn't know it yet. 11 trips to the playoffs, 6 conference title appearances and 3 championships.

A team player the entire time too.

(Demolition Man came out and Rodman lost his mind, then left Detroit. But he wasn't the straw that stirred the drink or anything. Joe Montana getting dissed and going to the Chiefs is the closest thing I can think of. But his understudy was ready to take over. It made sense.)

I've been there where I set my price on contracts and took less money though and I learned just what happened to Wade - 20 years ago. Once you set your price - they will never give you more. You have to leave the company or business for one that will pay more.

Kind of looks like they had more, but Hoopshype isn't up to date with the deals. I get it - been there and done that. Once you have negotiated a contract price - No one ever comes back and agrees to give you more. Just doesn't happen. He screwed himself to win more titles.

I mean, in a way this is kinda like Shaq leaving...except Shaq had more left in the tank probably...no? that wasnt on the best of terms at the time if i recall correctly....so it does happen i guess. tryng to think of another circumstance like that...

That was an ugly break up too. Hissy fit slap fight ugly.

That was ckearly coming during the Finals against my Pistons. There was hatred on that team between two guys or two factions. Somebody had to go. And Shaq going was the right choice imo.

Id say he had more to give at that point than Wade does now. Physical size didn't go anywhere as he aged. I think DWade for the Bulls is more of a value to the fans than it will be on the court. Although I think they're better now than at the end of the season. (Not saying much. Lol)

Allows Valentine(who's only from 3 hours away and there are more Sparty alums in Chicago than any other city.) to learn from an Alltime great and be able to come off the bench atkeast to start off.

He took less to get them there.

You don't see that often.

I respect him for it.

They all did.
It was the only way to unite.
By uniting/winning , he made millions and millions in endorsements.
Far more then the salary he left behind.

Read some of the stuff coming out today.
His agent is really the one who screwed him over by demanding a max for Bosh.
James also screwed him over by allowing him to opt out when he knew he wasn't coming back.

Initial year, if I recall was 14,500 Bosh/James. 14 Wade.
If Bosh/James bought dinner all season, it was a wash.
