As puck said earlier, just seeing the Oilers drop out of the top 3 is almost as good as winning.

I think the top 3 (Matthews and the two Finns) will go 1-2-3, I think at least one of Edmonton and Vancouver will take a dman, thus that leaves a pretty good forward for the Flames in the 6 hole. I'm fine with how this unfolded.

Congrats on #3 43. Whoever they draft there is going to be a star. Vancouver and Calgary will get fantastic players too. I think we'll all be happy in a few years.

I think it was rigged. Had to get Oilers out of the top three or the other GMs were going to explode.
Matthews now going out partying and putting on weight to lower his value.

I think it's pretty funny that the Jets got Teemu Selanne and now will most likely get another star Finnish player.

Auston was a little subdued when interviewed after the draft. Not exactly happy, but it was 330 am over there. Couldn't blame him if he was hoping for ARI.

I think his mood will greatly improve when he realizes how much money he will make in endorsements in Toronto.

I wonder if Jost is too much of a reach for the Canucks at #5. Good BC boy.

Dinner out at cactus club with the family
Pxp as it happened
Canucks as 5th pick *audible groans* (no rioting!)
Seconds later
Revealed coilers have 4th pick *cheering ensues*
Someone hoots "yah. At least those fuckers dont get #1 again"
My son *laughing hysterically* "dad that guy said the f word"

Congrats to the Leafs.

I am happy with #3. And Winnipeg is a team that might actually make a deal for #2 also. 12m in cap space. Feels like we could sell them on Forsberg, and a "Veteran D Man" plus someone like Rychel. They seem more likely to bite than a lot of teams would be. We wouldn't be able to sell Montreal or Buffalo as easily.

Alright, you bald Finnish fuckwit. I am placing it back in your hands. One will be great. Both will make me like you.

Something tells me you would have to say adios to Bjorkstrand if you want Winnipeg's #2 pick. He did play with Nic Petan in Portland so Winnipeg might be intrigued. Even if it doesn't happen, a pretty good night for Columbus.

Iirc it was finnish media guy vesa rantanen in the cesspool recently saying finnish media and hockey people are notoriously hard on their own. Ie u could have a jari kurri type young player and they be like ... "Naw that guys trash. Hell never play in the nhl"

He said its a good thing for cbj that there are 2 great finns in the top three because it cant be possible for kekalainen to hate them both lol

Yeah, I was just looking at their prospect pool and it's not as bad as I initially thought. Might be a bit harder to pry that one away. They aren't gonna need a goalie as bad as I thought.

So they can turn towards Edmonton and pry away the Center that Puljujarvi or Laine will want with Bjorkstrand. Same or similar package. Rychel just became expendable, and Milano will have a harder time making the roster now. Two veteran D men (albeit very expensive ones) they don't need, and Forsberg is clearly not the goalie of the future.

Or if Winnipeg wants something we have, they can send us Dano back.

Jarmo's already said that he'd consider moving up to get two in the top 3. Maybe he actually likes them both. Plus Mathews has been playing over there too.

hmmmm...

Wonder which one he hates?
