Golden opportunity gine for Fed to win Monte Carlo for tge first time. Losing to Tsonga. I think after the operation and all its time to write his epitaph.

Yeah, I've been rooting for FED to win Monte Carlo and Rome, the 2 Masters he hasn't won, for years.

I'm not as upset that he lost to Tsonga, but rather that he lost to Tsonga given his age and how few chances he'll have left. He might not play it next year.

Very upset that Wawrinka was blown out by Nadal.

Murray beating Nadal would be cool. It would still be a big win for Murray to do that.

Monfils has never won a Masters 1000, so that would be nice to see.

Murray sets up Nadal semi, Federer out

Wawrinka angrily broke his racket around his thigh in the fifth game of the first set, drawing jeers from the crowd. The Swiss also admitted his frustration at the level of noise coming from people eating their lunch in the restaurant above centre court.

''You wonder whether people are coming to have lunch or to watch tennis. I don't believe they saw a lot of the match ... I think they also drank a lot of alcohol.'' Wawrinka said. ''When you don't play well and you're not in your match, it can bother you.''

Is he really complaining about people eating food at a sporting event? Wow

I don't really think Fed losing Monte Carlo harms his legacy as much as it really hurts his chances to retake #2 from Murray anytime soon. Obviously, MC was the exception, but managing to avoid Novak's half of the draw is a big deal.

And yes, for the first time ever, I think Fed's days are numbered. The end of 2016 was always a goal to hit. With it gone and his worst injury in years, I think he sees the finish line. The longest I see him playing is the end of 2018, and I think the end of 2017 is more likely the end of his career.

No, it doesn't harm his legacy.

But had he been able to win it, it could have helped him.

Or, brought him closer to Nole, when comparing the Masters 1000s. Nole has won 8/9 of them, and made the Cincinnati Finals 5x.

FED has 7/9 of them, could have been 8/9 if he won Monte Carlo, with him also making the Rome Finals 4x.

Nadal has won 7/9, with him also making the Miami Finals 4x; and Paris Finals 1x.

I just hope he plays as long as he can, because I enjoy watching him.

I haven't watched NBC SN too many times before. Can't remember the last time.

As long as they don't tape delay stuff, it will be ok.

Tennis Channel will also still have it.

Murray broke Nadal so many times in the 1st, but didn't get much going in the last two sets. Disappointing for Murray.

Monfils destroyed Tsonga.

Let's go Monfils, win your first Masters 1000.

Have no idea. I was watching some Soccer after the 2nd set completed. Once I turned back, Rafa was up 4-0 in the 3rd

Wow, a bagel. I didn't see it. What happened?

Though the first two sets, this was going to be my favorite match of the year.

Yes, it was a little frustrating that every time Monfils would get a break, he was broken back.

But the individual games were very competitive, and it was fun to watch.

Also, the games Monfils was broken, he got into a lot of 0-40 holes. So he was getting behind a lot on his own service games, even through the first two sets. It's just he managed to get out of a few of them during those first two sets.

In the 3rd, it was more of the same, struggling with his service games. Only this time, he wasn't winning return points either. Yes, I was surprised with how quickly it went.

I think though that Monfils was the only one that could have beaten Nadal yesterday, just based on the way the points were being played, and Monfils' style.

Monfils served about 52% for the match, so yes, he struggled with his serve.

He double faulted to lose the first set.

He was hitting several winners 100+ mph. An early winner in the match was 106mph, and also 113 mph.
