Never mind. I just read where he's on the 15 day DL.

We are going to have to lose a guy at lest in a few days to activate AJ. Really wonder how they handle Chris G. Thinking someone hits the 60 day

You're exactly right, and I'm thinking, almost semi-hoping, it's going to be Hamilton.

They could option Chris G but I think they want to be generous. Othe thing is I am not sure they want AJ to pitch immediately. Maybe skip one start. This is a hard one to gauge

I think they will either move Gimenez to the 60 day or they will try to slide Claudio or Klein through waivers.

Love Beltre, but if his asking price was still what they initially said it was, they will not be finalizing any contract before the season. Possibility he walks after this year

I've been thinking the same thing. I love me some beltre, but with Rua, Profar, and Gallo all potentially chomping at the bit it just makes no sense to pay beltre for what he has done instead of what we expect him to do.

Agree. Emotion has to be left out of this decision. Love Beltre but am not on board to a long term contract.

Mentioned 2 year proposed by Beltre. Question: would you rather have Mitch or Beltre? Wonder what kind of year Mirch has with a stacked lineup. Just thinking out loud. There are risks both ways. So much youth coming up and we may be extending an older player. I want Beltre but wonder if it is the wisest action for the time.

I am beginning to think this is the last season he plays here. My head tells me that is probably the best outcome, but my heart will miss him being here.

I'm all for a two year deal for beltre, but not at 20+ per. Mitch is going to be a FA. We've got too many young guys potentially ready to step in at 1b, plus Fielder.

No interest in going back to research, but I'm pretty sure a few months ago, the general consensus on here was that the Rangers needed to hang on to Beltre... not "no matter what", but pretty damn close. Then we heard the rumblings of 19/yr for 3 years or some such, and I think we all came back down to Earth. And rightfully so. Hate to see him leave if he did, but there's a future to consider.

I haven't seen a 2 year extension mentioned. The last I heard was 3 years.

Rangers and Adrian Beltre have had extension talks, and it's promising enough that they'll continue into season - tweet from Jon Heyman

Every part of my heart wants him to retire a ranger, and I think he wants it too, but he also knows this is his last chance for one last pay day for his family and knows the rangers have frankly had him on the cheap. I hope he wins a WS with us this year, and then I'm good with whatever happens. I just cant justify giving him 3+ years at 20+ per.

JD will ship him off somewhere in July, I'm 99.99% certain.

Very possible, but there's some variables that will play into that including our position in the race, and how well guys like Rua and Gallo are doing. Mitch could bring back a nice piece or two, but if the team is really clicking are we really thinking JD is going to interrupt that?
