how do u figure? :suds:

League averages for:
(Williams,Bonds)

BA-(.277,.263)
OBP-(.356,.333)
SLG-(.409,.410)-
AIR-(108,102)
BB%-(9.2,8.7)
SO%-(10.4,16.1)
HR%-(5.3,6.0)

The only stat that was better in Bonds days was HR... Everything else was considerably better during Williams days...

Of course with more HRs that also creates more runs scored...

AIR is a great stat to show whether a season(for that player- since it has a built in stadium factor) was offensively strong or pitching strong..

As I already articulated earlier, having the best players does not connote having a higher talent level. You have to look at the league as a whole, which I did better when I calculated the WAR of the best 30 players from two different eras.

You have to remember the best atheletes played Baseball in the past, not the NFL, not the NBA. There were only 16 teams so the best of the best were on those 16 teams.

And you STILL have guys getting popped, despite all the masking agents. The entire Blue Jays team is juicing. You think Chris Davis isn't on the sauce? LOL
You just contradicted yourself. Pitching is more heavy today because of less PED usage, but tons of players are still using PED's? Can you reconcile these two conflicting statements for me somehow?

And you do realize the top athletes today are in the NFL and NBA....

An NFL and NBA comprised of largely African Americans. Last I checked, African Americans didn't play MLB ball prior to the 1940s? That's not helping your argument...

Umm not exactly a valid point... NFL and NBA are both dominated by blacks, who were not playing in Williams day... I wonder what percent of the NBA is White and American??

So if 300 players play at 40% level vs. 600 who play at 70% level, you would take the league with fewer players and less production? Ok.

Also basketball has a height recquirement... It is very rare to see a MLB player taller than 6'5,now or ever... Maybe only 20% of the NBA is shorter than 6'5...

The NFL more rivals baseball than basketball does...

Sorry, I know the number line can be confusing at times

No it's some random numbers you are trying to use to prove a point that can be confusing.

I don't see how it's confusing at all. Would you rather have 10 players with a .330 OBP or 100 players with a .350 OBP? (These are arbitrary numbers to prove my overall point)

Are there 100 players in todays game with a OBP of .350 or better? The worst players on a team in 1930 had a .330 OBP so again your point is?

Ugh. I'm not being literal. I don't know that 100 players today have an OBP over .350. I'm just trying to point out how ludicrous it is to say that a certain era had better talent because there were fewer players without looking at any other facts or stats.

I didn't contradict myself. There are FAR less roids in the rgame today, but guys are still getting popped. Offensive numbers are still down, despite the lack of great pitching. Players today are soft as baby poop(for the most part). Pitch limits, innings limits....guys didn't have TJ surgeries like they were eating skittles back in the day because guys were actually allowed to throw...Yu Darvish never has arm trouble in his career until he came to the U.S. and was forced to alter his throwing program which contained long toss every day and extra mound work between starts

Ah, who's contradicting themselves now .. "I'm not being literal", in other words, making it up as you go.....

There aren't great athletes who are white in the NFL today? Nearly every QB in the NFL(and college) were pitchers in HS

There's a difference between an analogy and making something up
