I dumped DirecTV in December. Was going to get an antenna. Missed TV for 2 days. Haven't missed it since. Probably won't even bother to get the antenna. Savings - All of it.
Yeah, I'm just saying it doesn't make sense to pay for it then. Plus they will throw a free month offer at you when the fall shows start back up. Win win.Hulu fits perfectly in my schedule. I like to watch new shows when they are released & summer time is usually when I work the most, 50-60 hours a week in 110 degree weather. Other than take a lot of showers & sleep, I don't do much during those months.
I have a RCA and a GE amplified antenna. The GE blows the RCA out of the water when it comes to reception and they were both basically the same price. The tower is about 30-35 miles away from my house. Once you find out where the antenna is, get the right antenna and point towards the tower.
Here is the antenna I got off amazon. 50 Miles Reception Amplified HDTV Antenna, SOAIY® Ultra Thin Indoor HDTV Antenna Built-in Amplifier for UHF/VHF with 16.5ft Coaxial Cable
I love bending over the cable bastards.
I was thinking about doing this until I clicked that link. If it's accurate I would get CBS and CW. That's it.Like AntennaWeb.org
This will show you where the towers are down there. If you are close to a city, you don't need anything special antenna wise.. But if you are in the boonies, you will need an amplified antenna. Both are not expensive.
Where at in FL? I lived in New Smyrna Beach from 2004-2010 and Orlando from 1998-2002

I have the ROKU which is basically what the OP is mentioning. I love it. It saves me a ton of $$$. I have NETFLIX, HBO GO, and many others. Bottom line is I don't have a monthly bill. I downloaded the ESPN App so I can watch NCAAA football and Hoops. This is an excellent way to cut the bills down.
I don't have the ROKU4.. What features does it have versus the other ROKU? I love the ROKU, especially like you were saying, fuck the cable companies. I think the word is out that customers will be making the switch sooner rather than later.Have u tried the Roku4 yet? I got the upgraded 2, which was essentially the roku3 but not with voice command.
You get plenty of TV with the Roku and Netflix.
