I would consider playing if it were a roto format.

I just don't like head to head for baseball at all. I think it is one thing in a yearly league, but in a dynasty everyone should be engaged all season anyway. Even if your team sucks, you still have something to play for. MBBRL is already head to head, I would prefer not to play another head to head league.

If we get enough interest I would like to do it as close to the MBBRL format as possible. I have never been very good at pure ROOT, therefore I am not a big fan of it. And like a straight points league, by the end of May you know who is contending and most of the rest lose interest for the year. A H2H done with points greatly favors the team that is able to get the most starts in.

So IMO H2H ROTO is the best format.

I will leave it open to the league what they want like we did with football.

I like roto best because it is a true test of skill and luck is minimized. As for some people being out in May, that is true. Since this is a dynasty league, however, any 1 single season is just a small piece of the overall puzzle. If your team sucks, you are playing for the future, but you don't simply disengage or your team will continue to suck for all time.

I have always been one that plays out the string even when in last. But there are a number of people that give up in ROTO. If we do a ROTO league, I would hope we wouldn't have any of them.

Like Tlance said though if it is a dynasty, that should take care of anyone giving up... and honestly, H2H only buys a couple more weeks of owners believing they are in it...

And this group just does not give up...

I would also prefer straight roto. The only taste of it I've had in the last ten years is milk's draft and forget, which is great, but there's no managing.

I would like to offer it up to the members of the other MBBRL leagues first, than anyone else that wants a spot.

When and if we get enough people, I am more than willing to put everything up to vote. If the majority want ROTO I am good with it.

Not sure this is even going to happen unless a couple more people step up.

I agree. We would need to hash out the rules and only have so much time until the season starts. I would still like to do it even if we can't start until next year.

Only problem is that we are losing more and more owners in baseball every year.... Last year we had to only do one MBBRL league... if finding people is a problem, it will remain a problem... we are in February we have time to hash things out...

Baseball is a lot longer commitment than football and with the ever growing popularity of day leagues, yes it is becoming a smaller group of people that want to do season long baseball leagues.

If we do ROTO which it sounds like most of us do not have an issue with, we have 9 and would only need 3-5 more. The rules would be what CATS we use. Day league or week (if ROTO I much prefer day) and limits on the season.

CATS..........I would propose using OBP instead of average, Total Bases instead of HRs Hold/Saves instead of Saves.
LIMITS....... I have been wondering about using Starts instead of IPs.

But like we did in the football league, I believe the league should decide on the rules.

If using daily changes, innings limits make the most sense, IMO. Somewhere between 1250 and 1600. I would not be opposed to weekly though either.

Whatever you guys decide, just let me know when and where.

And what's up with MBBRL? Some decisions and plans need to be made fairly soon, I think; we waited until the last minute last year and things didn't work out so well.
