God it must suck to remember winning a national championship and continuously dominate your conference.

Yes they should. After watching what a very depleted 4th place Baylor team did to UNC, Clem should be worried... considering UNC took them to the wire in the ACC CCG. Either that or the UNC/Clem game was a fluke.

Wasn't a fluke. UNC's offense is legit. Now that Williams is gone, we can get a smarter QB that doesn't hesitate so much before passing. Williams was a great player for us, but his worst games came in the biggest lights. Like in the Baylor game, some drives he looked outstanding. The next drive he'd overthrow a guy in the flats.

Oklahoma and Baylor should get out of the crap shoot that is the Big 12 as soon as they can.

Bob Stoops has won 8 bowl games. This is the 9th season Stoops & OU have finished with a loss and they were favored in all 9.

He fixed the offense, now he just needs to fix the defense. It pains me to see teams come out well prepared for the bowl game and Stoops just can't seem to figure out how to prepare for a bowl.

Four or five teams played Clemson better than OU did this year. OU was an 8-4 team that lucked their way into a decent season thanks to injuries and Mayfield.

God's honest truth is Stoops is not that good of a coach when he prepares teams for bowls while opposing coaches do their homework and figure out OU's tendencies. Another fault Stoops has is letting his assistants jump the rails during the middle of a game. Example: Forgetting to run the ball after it worked so well at the beginning of the game. He used to let Heupel do the same thing when Heupel would just start making play calls that defied reason. Stoops' other major weakness is his inability to make good halftime adjustments in tight games. Add all that up and we lose a lot of bowl games because we're playing good teams that just keep coming at you.

I can't argue with that, but now the youngsters know they have to get better if they want to compete outside the conference.

He needs to do some major overhauling, recruiting needs to be better, strength and conditioning coach maybe needs a change also.

5 Step program to get better:

1. Get tougher: The entire Big 12 is pillow soft right now.
2. Get a big QB that can run and pass
3. Get bigger on defense, and stuff the run
4. Evolve an entire team around running the football, stopping the run and shitting down people's throats while running the football
5. Beat Texas

I'm tired of seeing soft OU teams. (Now before answering the question tell me how shitty my team is, and now soft we are, and I'll already admit that we are, and know my team needs to get better in all these area's as well. Not only to compete, but win at least 6 or more games in the regular season.)

Take some time and go back through Stoops' recruiting history. Look at the past few years. Then go back starting in 2002. See something interesting? Use this link: Scout.com: Football Recruiting

He won't fire Mike Stoops so that side of the ball isn't going to change. Which means we are going to stay somewhere between 8-4 and 10-2 for the foreseeable future. I'm through tilting at windmills. OU is not an elite program now (due to coaching weaknesses and recruiting) but we're still good. That seems to be enough for Boren and Castiglione so we won't be seeing anything major happening in the program soon. Next year's schedule is harder and we can't expect our major conference competition to lose all their QB's. This feels like Groundhog Day.
