Another point, Wiggy.
Gasol is the focal point of the Grizzlies offense while Whiteside basically gets the ball sometimes when it's tossed to him coming off the pick and roll.
Gasol is the better skilled offensive player and should put up more points.
Hell, he should do tons based on the construction of that roster and how it was built around him.

Whiteside still had no problem doing what he does best, and his role right now just is what it is.

Like I've said all year, I think someone other then the Heat is going to throw a max at him, which will likely end his days here, and while there is risk involved, there is also high reward potential.

Of all the pending top FA, I think he's currently the most interesting one in as far as watching how the rest of the league views him.

Wiggy was nowhere to be found when Gasol had 12 and 7 in other words a mediocre performance in the first meeting? Another reason why you should not talk without watching the game because you don't know how the defensive coverage was. There were times last night where Bosh or Amare guarded Gasol as well

And Wiggy just ignored the fact that a Center shot 44%? I'm sorry but if you're a center and you attempt 18 shots, you should at least make 10+ shots. 44% is pretty garbage for a Center

BTW Wiggy nice to see you're back posting as you went into hiding after the Cavs got destroyed by Portland. No surprise there

Hey @bksballer89 Why is the Heat's defensive efficiency worse with Whiteside on the court compared to on the bench? Does he get himself out of position trying to block too many shots? It's an interesting variance.

Not a good pick and roll defender. Also doesn't like to get out on bigs who can shoot

Surprised that he struggles with pick and roll defense with his size and athleticism. He moves well for a big man.

It may be a skill he hasn't mastered yet and/or he may just be lazy. Shaq was a pretty terrible pick and roll defender as well. Mostly because he was lazy.

Teams #2 - #9 in the East are all within 2 games of each other. 3 - 8 are within 1/2 a game.

Another issue of is that he's working on is setting better picks on the offensive end. His picks are pretty weak.

Yeah that's the good thing about him. He hasn't played a full season (in terms of games yet) so he will improve on all of these things

who the hell cares if the Cavs got blown out one game- the day after Christmas after playing Golden State? With all the crap they have dealt with thus far I am surprised that hasnt happened once or twice more- but FOR THE MOST PART- besides like that Wizards game (their only home loss), Portland, Miami (where they punted), the Cavs have been in every single game all year.

Last year they were 19-20......right now they are 20-9- first in the East, and, in my mind, proved that no matter how good Golden State's offense is- the Cavs have the ability to slow it down and play their style of ball.
If anything I think the Cavs are ahead of where they should be at this point in the year.

I would be more concerned about your Heat- who have had the easiest schedule in basketball, yet, wake up tied with the Boston Celtics and Orlando Magic in the standings- with a whole other slew of East teams.

Its like I said all along- and like anyone that knows anything about basketball has known all along.

The Cavs are EASILY the class of the East. Everyone else is playing for 2nd place.

the 3 best teams in the West are the Spurs, OKC and GSW- one will face the Cavs in the Finals. and if the Cavs are have Irving, Love and LeBron all together the Cavs will win.

Nothing has changed that since the start of the year.

This was known since July. Saying the Cavs are the class of the east when there's clearly no serious title contenders outside of Cleveland in the East is a waste of time.

Just for the record I'm not sure if the Heat actually had the easiest schedule record wise. The East obviously been much better than anyone thought this year so I highly doubt when you look at their schedule that they have had the easiest schedule in the league. They played a lot of home games but the schedule as a whole was not easy. The Heat is just about right where I thought they would be through 2 months. They're 18-13 through 2 months and I had them at either 19-12/20-11 after this month so not the end of the world

Pfft. All anyone needs to know about the East is that 4 of the Lakers 5 wins are against Eastern Conference teams and the 76ers aren't even one of them.

Dumb stat.

People could cherry pick stats all day.

Both of 76ers wins are vs. West Conf.
Portland is 2-9 vs. the East.
Thunder have a losing record vs. the East. (and are 15-2 vs. the West)
