You do know this is basically Pete's mantra don't you?Let's break those two plays down. First one, all Wilson had to do was lead him in a little bit because he had his guy beat badly and it would have been a TD. So, either go for the throat and throw it inside or make the "safe" throw when we don't need the "safe" throw, where it's either his guy getting it or it's out of bounds.
Second one that was underthrown. Wilson obviously wanted to go to him because he was looking for him all the way. He could step into a throw and take the hit throwing a semi-blind ball to Lockett based on anticipation or scramble so he has a full view of the field and then try to deliver it.
You see the pattern here? We're training the guy to not make mistakes instead of making plays. That's on him but it's also on the coaching. It's ridiculous. I have no concerns about Wilson throwing a sweet deep ball because he can. You just can't pay a QB 20 million and tell him not to throw a receiver open or lead him inside for the big play.
Run the ball.
Play great D.
Do not turn the ball over.
Is it that you feel Pete is the main problem with this team?
