Patriots

3-0
--

Last Week: 1 How good were the Patriots in their first three games? They have a better points differential (plus-49) than each of the five 4-0 teams.
2

Packers

4-0

1
Last Week: 3 Winning the turnover battle is always a key to winning. The Packers haven't turned the ball over in their previous 159 minutes and 5 seconds of game play.
3

Broncos

4-0

1
Last Week: 4 The Broncos lead the NFL with 18 sacks. Even more impressive? Eleven players have recorded at least one sack this season.
4

Cardinals

3-1

2
Last Week: 2 Sunday's loss to the Rams was Carson Palmer's first since Week 17 of the 2013 season.
5

Bengals

4-0
--

Last Week: 5 Andy Dalton is 4-0 and averaging more than 10 yards per pass attempt. The most recent quarterback to do that? Kurt Warner in 2000.
6

Falcons

4-0
--

Last Week: 6 Devonta Freeman has seven rushing touchdowns in his past three games. A Falcons running back hadn't scored more than six rushing touchdowns in a season since 2012.
7

Seahawks

2-2
--

Last Week: 7 The Seahawks have won their past two, but something is still off. They're one of three teams without a rushing touchdown and one of three teams without an interception.
8

Panthers

4-0

1
Last Week: 9 The Panthers have an early defensive player of the year candidate. Cornerback Josh Norman already has 4 interceptions, 5 pass breakups and 2 touchdowns.
9

Jets

3-1

6
Last Week: 15 The Jets are 3-1 for the first time since 2010. That was also the most recent time they made the playoffs.
10

Steelers

2-2

2
Last Week: 8 Since 2004, the Steelers are 1-7 against the Ravens when Ben Roethlisberger doesn't start (9-2 vs. all other teams).

Rams

2-2

8
Last Week: 19 Todd Gurley had more rushing yards in Week 4 (164) than the Rams' other running backs had combined (111) in Weeks 1-3.
12

Bills

2-2

2
Last Week: 10 The Bills have been called for 58 penalties in four games this season, 12 more than any other team Those penalties have amounted to 428 yards lost, 92 more than the next-highest team.
13

Cowboys

2-2

2
Last Week: 11 The Cowboys' offense has been fine without Tony Romo and Dez Bryant. But the defense has no turnovers and has allowed 438.0 yards per game the past two games.
14

Vikings

2-2

1
Last Week: 13 Location. Location. Location. The Vikings have lost five straight on the road (including Sunday), but have won five straight at home.
15

Giants

2-2

1
Last Week: 16 The Giants have a plus-6 turnover differential this season, tied for second in the NFL. The Giants haven't finished with a positive turnover differential since 2012.
16

Colts

2-2

2
Last Week: 14 Does Matt Hasselbeck get Thursday's start against the Texans as well? Andrew Luck is injured, and J.J. Watt has sacked Luck eight times in six games.
17

Chargers

2-2

1
Last Week: 18 Philip Rivers is completing 70.7 percent of his passes and leads the NFL in passing yards (1,248). That was all without Antonio Gates (suspension), who will make his season debut Monday against the Steelers.
18

Chiefs

1-3

6
Last Week: 12 What happened to the Chiefs' defense? K.C. has allowed 31.3 PPG this season, tied for worst in the NFL. Last season, the Chiefs allowed 17.6 PPG, ranking second in the NFL.
19

Ravens

1-3

3
Last Week: 22 Justin Forsett had more rushing yards (150) in the Ravens' Week 4 win against the Steelers than he had in Baltimore's first three games combined (124).
20

Raiders

2-2
--

Last Week: 20 The offense is improving, but the defense still needs work. Opponents are converting 46 percent of third-down tries against the Raiders, fourth highest in the NFL.

Saints

1-3

10
Last Week: 31 Sunday's win over the Cowboys marked the first time the Saints committed zero turnovers since Week 13 of last season. Protecting the ball is key, as the defense has allowed the most yards per play this season.
22

Eagles

1-3

5
Last Week: 17 Philly has shown bursts on offense but no consistency. The Eagles have been held to three or fewer points in a half in each of their games this season.
23

Titans

1-2

1
Last Week: 24 Keeping Marcus Mariota upright will be key for the Titans following their bye. Mariota has been sacked on 10.6 percent of his dropbacks this season, second highest in the NFL.
24

Redskins

2-2

3
Last Week: 27 Kirk Cousins has only three career starts (out of 13) without a turnover. The good news is that two have come this year, and both have led to Redskins wins.
25

Browns

1-3

1
Last Week: 26 The Browns have scored a touchdown on three of their 11 red zone drives this season (27.3 percent). That makes those two losses by a touchdown or less even tougher to bear.
26

Lions

0-4

1
Last Week: 25 Ill-timed fumbles aside, the Lions don't even have 200 rushing yards as a team this season. This after drafting a guard and a running back with their first two picks.
27

49ers

1-3

1
Last Week: 28 All of Colin Kaepernick's touchdowns this season (two passing, one rushing) have come with the 49ers trailing by at least 25 points.
28

Texans

1-3

7
Last Week: 21 Brian Hoyer or Ryan Mallett? Does it even matter? The Texans rank last in completion percentage (52.7) and yards per attempt (5.9).
29

Bears

1-3

3
Last Week: 32 Thanks to Robbie Gould's clutch kicking (9-of-9 on FGs this season), the Bears avoided their first 0-4 start since 2000.
30

Dolphins

1-3

7
Last Week: 23 The Dolphins have been outscored by a league-worst 34 points in the first quarter this season. Their only score in the first quarter this season was a field goal against the Jaguars.
31

Jaguars

1-3

2
Last Week: 29 The Jaguars had a chance to take the AFC South lead with a win in Week 4, but failed to score after halftime in an overtime loss. It was their 11th consecutive road loss.
32

Buccaneers

1-3

2
Last Week: 30 Jameis Winston and Mike Evans need to get on the same page. Winston is 10-of-28 with three interceptions and no touchdowns when targeting Evans this season.

Meaningless though power rankings are, the note about Denver's 18 sacks and 11 players with at least one sack is potentially meaningful. Keep that up as the inexperienced o-line hopefully begins to gel, and the Broncos could have a special season.

what amazes me?

pats have 13 sacks in 3 games. they had 40 last year in 16, or 2.5 per game.

giants? 5 in 4 games. they had 47 last year, or nearly 3 per game.

talk about going the opposite direction.
