This site is well run. For freedom of expression, it's quite good. It's always been very good place to mix it up. The owner, Ford and Mamba are seem pretty decent.

(Yet, this is not a substitute for authentic human relationships -- nor should it ever be for anyone. Taking this shit too is seriously is a serious mistake).

1. The mods right now are the best in the history of the site. This site has always had great posters, but in the past, it had a tendency to be cliquish and unwelcoming to new posters. That clearly isn't true today, as evidenced by the massive influx of new posters who stick around all the time. Anybody who is criticizing the current mods is being stupid.

2. It's the internet. It is full of people without lives who have a tendency to turn petty slights into a big deal. And yes, many people on here (or anywhere on the internet) don't have lives. If you don't want to put up with them, ban them, but it's not just gonna stop.

3. I will say that I do hope that if you ever have the urge or financial need to turn off the site, you'll give us ample warning. And while I definitely don't have the financial or technological capabilities to buy the site, I am one of the many people here who would be willing to donate if that is what it takes. I have spent almost seven years posting with some of these people on various sites, and while I understand you are making a rhetorical point, the threat of cutting off the site at once does bother me a bit. I wish you wouldn't do it.

I own this fucking website. I will do what I want to do, up to and including disconnecting my credit card and shutting this fucker down. It's really very simple. Everyone is posting on here because I pay for this shit. Does that mean I'm on a power trip? Or does it mean some people are incredibly insecure and/or have serious entitlement issues and problems with authority of any sort?

The chirping from people I used to like and trust is the most astonishing and disappointing.
