Nobody picked Tennessee or Michigan?

What's going on here?

I think OU is a year away from winning the B12 and making a trip to the playoffs. I'm thinking TCU will be the one to beat in the B12. Now that the door has been opened to BU's shenanigans they may be losing some more of their guys. tOSU seems like a shoe in, but they are losing guys left and right. May be LSU's time to reign supreme in the SEC once again. Clemson may be the dark horse in the ACC. Not sure about the PAC, but pretty sure it won't be Ore this year.

Boggles my mind as to why they're even ranked, let alone a NC contender.
Stout defense and solid veteran QB. They have 4 conference road games and 3 of them are easily winnable even with a less than perfect game: WSU, Colorado, and Oregon State. Only USC looms as a road loss. The other tough games are at home, namely Oregon. They don't play either Utah or Arizona State. They do face ND as usual, but at home.

Veteran QB's and schedules like that get you on short lists.

I see a 7-5 team, with 6-6 or 5-7 a real possibility. They just weren't that impressive last year.

I'm not saying they are going to the playoffs. Just putting up the case why some would over value them. With a 9 conference game slate each team has 4 road games one year and 5 the next. Who you face in those is huge. You want your tough games at home and Stanford has that. They have no excuses if they can't get deep this year.
